It is within walking distance of the National Children’s Museum, so it was such a good kid-friendly restaurant to visit with a child. ## Close to Hyehwa Station and the National Children’s Museum It is close to Hyehwa Station and right across from CGV Daehangno. Head up the stairs to the second floor and the entrance is right there. The atmosphere is lovely and pretty from the moment you walk in. The chairs were roomy and comfy too. It has the warm, relaxed feeling of a casual restaurant! There are four-person tables, two-person tables, and window seats. It looked great for a date for two, a family of four dining with kids, or a gathering. There were so many adorable little decor pieces throughout the restaurant that it made my heart feel all soft and happy. Honestly, what surprised me most after visiting was how incredibly kind and cheerful the owner and staff were. They were so thoughtful with the seating, menu explanations, and guidance. There was Wi-Fi information and even such a comfortable high chair! (Let’s definitely go with a baby… kid-friendly places are precious.) They served the drinks first. Oh, they gave us two straws each. (Such thoughtfulness.) Even with a drink, I have to choose zero sugar to feel less guilty haha. When will I ever lose weight? The second it came out, I squealed! It is even better in person. So, so cute in real life. Ducks under an umbrella haha, and a duck wearing an inner tube beside them haha. (They said this duck doll was a gift! Eeeek!) Little quail-ducks huddled together on an egg island! Is this not the sweetest thing ever? How could I break it apart and eat it… It made me happy before I even took a bite. Thanks to this rubber-duck omurice, I remembered for the first time in a while that you should admire food before eating it. The joy that comes from plating is huge, too. Kids would seriously, seriously love this dish when they see it. (After the science museum or Daehangno Park, definitely go here with your child.) But I still had to eat it, right? Pretty or not, it had to be eaten. Our rubber ducks came tumbling down… The tornado egg was quite thick. As for the taste, it was not spicy at all. The rice had a little pepper, but barely any heat, and the omurice sauce had a gentle tomato-butter base. The rice was fluffy and nicely stir-fried with vegetables. This is Omil’s signature menu, so I definitely recommend ordering it at least once. There was more than I expected—four pieces! You have to pull it apart like you are eating ribs. They gave us finger gloves. The flavor was honestly heavenly. The gochujang butter pasta I was looking forward to most! I had never tried a menu item like this before, so I was curious. Look at that visual… I was happy again before even eating it. It was topped generously with sous-vide pork neck. Carbs and just the right amount of protein—excellent. The portion was generous too, and first of all, the look of it made my mouth water… The little flag stuck on top was so cute as well. You need to mix in the gochujang butter on top really well. That rich, thick cream… It was seriously, seriously better than Outback’s Toowoomba pasta. Personally, I love deep, thick, rich flavors, but when something is greasy I cannot eat much of it. But this pasta? I cleaned up every last bit of the sauce. It is a slightly spicy gochujang butter pasta. Really, the noodles were cooked just right, the sauce was deep and rich, and the meat was tender with no odor at all—like it had been charcoal grilled. This is a menu item I strongly recommend. (Writing this makes me want it again… drool.) It is a K-Western fusion restaurant where the pasta, omurice, and steak are all delicious. It is especially good to visit with a child, and it also has a lovely atmosphere for a date, so it would be perfect when you are visiting Hyehwa in Daehangno.
