I've always loved cute little Japanese home-style meals, and this Daidokoro in Gwangalli nailed the cute visuals as well as the taste and value, so I really wanted to introduce it. If you're looking for things to do in Gwangalli or a good place to eat in Namcheon-dong, stick with me till the end :) ## Where is Daidokoro Gwangalli Main Branch, and where can you park? Daidokoro Gwangalli Main Branch is on the 2nd floor at 27 Namcheondong-ro 108beon-gil, Suyeong-gu, Busan, near Geumnyeonsan and Namcheon stations, so it's close to Gwangalli Beach too. There's no dedicated parking, so if you're driving, I'd recommend the nearby Suyeong-gu Office parking lot or a paid lot in the area. I heard weekday lunches can have a wait because of nearby office workers making reservations. If there's a wait, definitely use the Catch Table sign in front of the restaurant. ## Inside Daidokoro Gwangalli: atmosphere and table setting The interior had a Japanese feel, with white walls and wooden tables. Seeing the neatly set tables under soft lighting put me in a good mood before the meal even started. Overall the portion was really hearty and neatly presented — just looking at it was filling, haha. The curry tasted like it had been simmered carefully for a long time, deep and rich with Japanese flavor, and had just the right balance of spicy-sweet that paired well with both the rice and the fried food. The croquettes were fried really crispy, with soft, fluffy potato and various fillings packed inside. The golden, crispy karaage (Japanese fried chicken) was piled generously with savory white tartar sauce, and it looked absolutely delicious. The karaage was crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside, and paired with Daidokoro's own house-made tartar sauce it was fresh and savory at the same time. The sauce cut through what could have been a greasy fried dish, so I could eat every last piece without getting tired of it. Mix the fried egg into the rice and top it with a piece of chicken — that's the perfect combination ❤️ The milk pudding we finished with at the end was sweet and smooth, giving the meal a perfect ending.
