These days everyone's so busy that it's hard to find time for the whole family to sit down together for a meal out. My daughter said she wanted pork galbi (marinated grilled short ribs) and cold naengmyeon, and since I remembered how delicious the yuzu-aged pork galbi was last time, we went back to Okryeon Galbi Pyeongtaek Main Branch~

Seasoned galbi can burn in an instant if you look away for even a moment, so usually someone has to keep holding the tongs and grilling instead of actually eating or joining the conversation, right? But at Okryeon Galbi, the staff grilled the meat for us from start to finish~

The staff member grilled it with expert timing, so not a single burnt spot, and the meat's rich juices stayed perfectly intact! Thanks to that, we didn't have to worry about burning the meat and the whole family could eat comfortably, which was so nice^^

I picked up a piece of the nicely browned galbi and popped it in my mouth... wow, the juices really burst in my mouth, so tender and clean it practically melted. It wasn't an artificial sweetness but a subtle, refined yuzu flavor that never got old, so I kept reaching for more!

With vegetable prices sky-high these days, the basic table setting still came with plenty of wrap vegetables, and the special seasoned vegetable salad, tossed spicy and tangy, was genuinely a standout side dish.

My husband and I enjoyed a delicious bite of meat with a cold glass of somaek (soju mixed with beer) alongside~^^

During our meal, the owner shared some really exciting news! Starting September 14, they're completely revamping the menu and table setting~ The interior isn't changing, but the entire table setting is being renewed, and every single side dish served will be handmade in-house at Okryeon Galbi, one by one, with care!

On top of that, they're keeping prices affordable so customers won't feel burdened, which makes it even more exciting~ The details of the new menu lineup and prices will be revealed on the opening day of September 14, so my curiosity is definitely piqued^^

## Is Okryeon Galbi worth it for a family dinner in Pyeongtaek?

Generous portions, an upscale flavor, and prices this affordable made for a perfect meal that satisfied both the wallet and the heart! The combination of subtle yuzu aroma and charcoal grilling is something special you can only find at Okryeon Galbi, and having the staff grill everything for you on top of that doubles the satisfaction.

I'd strongly recommend it not just for family meals, but for date nights and work dinners with colleagues too! We're planning to visit again to try the new handmade side dishes and new menu items when they roll out on September 14!
