## In short

Stack Bakery is a two-floor bakery café a short walk from Konkuk University Station in Gwangjin, Seoul. Visiting Stack Bakery at 11am meant a kaya jam croissant, a ham cheese croissant and an Americano, eaten at a second-floor seat with a floor-to-ceiling window looking onto trees. Late morning is the best time to come, when the bread selection is widest and the café stays quiet.

I was looking for somewhere quiet in Konkuk to enjoy bread and coffee, so I went to Stack Bakery. There are so many cafés near Konkuk University Station, but that day I wasn't after somewhere loud and busy — I wanted a place where I could eat good bread and rest for a bit.

To cut to the chase: the bread was delicious, but what I really loved was the lush green tree view from the second floor.

I visited in the morning, and there was such a wide variety of freshly baked bread on display that it was fun just looking around.

## Where is Stack Bakery and what are the hours?

🥐 Stack Bakery, a bakery café in Konkuk, is located at 5 Ttukseom-ro 31-gil, Gwangjin-gu, Seoul, on the 1st and 2nd floors. Hours are 08:00–21:00, closed every Wednesday.

It's within walking distance of Konkuk University Station. On the first floor you can browse and order from the various bakery items, and the second floor has seating, so it's a nice place to enjoy bread and coffee at your leisure.

I visited around 11am, and this timing was really good — there was quite a wide variety of bread out. From croissants to pastries, there were so many tempting options on display that I stood there deliberating for a while.

And the moment I opened the door, that rich buttery smell hit me! The whole entrance was filled with that deep, buttery croissant scent — hard to walk past if you love bread.

## What I ordered at Stack Bakery: kaya jam croissant, ham cheese croissant, Americano

🥐 That day at Stack Bakery I ordered an Americano along with two croissants — kaya jam and ham cheese.

- Kaya jam croissant
- Ham cheese croissant
- Americano

I picked an Americano for my coffee, and it paired cleanly with the sweet, buttery croissants.

Tasting the flavor of the bread and taking a sip of coffee in between cleared my palate nicely — an Americano really is the easiest, best combination at a bakery café.

### How the kaya jam croissant tastes

🥐 The kaya jam croissant was one of the menu items I was most looking forward to at Stack Bakery!

![Cross-section of the kaya jam croissant](https://img.superchart.com/images/stack-bakery-konkuk-croissant-tree-view/stack-bakery-konkuk-croissant-tree-view-13-nnbn5-900.webp)

The outside was crisp with visible layers, the inside soft, and the sweet kaya jam (coconut egg jam) added on top made for a great flavor combination. The distinctly sweet, nutty flavor of kaya jam paired well with the buttery notes, making it feel more like a dessert than a plain croissant.

That said, it wasn't overly sweet — it went perfectly with the Americano. If you love flaky pastry with a sweet filling, I'd recommend this one.

### Ham cheese croissant as a light meal

🥪 The ham cheese croissant had a different charm from the kaya jam one. If sweet bread feels like too much, or you're looking for something to eat in place of a meal, this one suits better (brunch vibes~)

Ham and cheese tucked between the nutty, crisp croissant added a savory note, and it paired naturally well with coffee too.

Because the croissant itself has that buttery richness, it felt much more substantial than a plain ham and cheese bread. It was also a good, simple option to have with a cup of coffee in the morning.

## Second-floor window seats with a tree view

🌿 Honestly, the bread wasn't the only thing I loved about Stack Bakery. The second floor! I took a seat upstairs, and the spot with the large floor-to-ceiling window looking out at the trees outside was just lovely.

Seeing the green trees through the window made me forget for a moment that I was in busy, crowded Konkuk. Just sitting there sipping coffee and looking outside felt genuinely healing.

This spot would especially suit people who'd rather have a quiet conversation or read a book alone instead of sitting in a loud, crowded café. I ended up spending a good while there that day, eating bread and drinking coffee at my leisure, and thought, 'I need to come back here again.'

## Best time to visit Stack Bakery and what to order

If you're looking for a bakery café in Konkuk, I'd recommend visiting Stack Bakery in the morning. When I went around 11am, there was such a wide variety of bread ready that it was easy to pick what I wanted.

As for recommendations: if it's your first visit, try the plain croissant or the kaya croissant first. If you want something to eat as a meal, I'd recommend the ham cheese type. And if you want to enjoy bread with coffee, an Americano goes nicely with anything.

![Various types of pastries at Stack Bakery](https://img.superchart.com/images/stack-bakery-konkuk-croissant-tree-view/stack-bakery-konkuk-croissant-tree-view-18-166x2-900.webp)

Stack Bakery in particular has a wide variety of croissants and pastries, so bread lovers will enjoy picking through the options. What I felt on this visit was that Stack Bakery isn't just a bakery for grabbing bread to go — it's more of a space to sit down, eat good bread and coffee, and rest for a while.

![Relaxed view of the second-floor seating at Stack Bakery](https://img.superchart.com/images/stack-bakery-konkuk-croissant-tree-view/stack-bakery-konkuk-croissant-tree-view-19-147q7-900.webp)

A place where the buttery scent from the entrance puts you in a good mood, and heading up to the second floor, the view of trees through the window relaxes you all over again. If you're looking for a good café in Konkuk and want not just pretty interiors but also delicious bread and a relaxed atmosphere, this one's worth remembering.

Next time I want to go a bit earlier and try some other croissants and pastries one by one. If you want to sit quietly with a good piece of bread and a warm cup of coffee, for me, Stack Bakery is a Konkuk bakery café I'd like to visit again.
