As the weather cooled down bit by bit, it started feeling like fall 🍂 I'd kept my hair bright all summer, but my roots had grown out a lot and the color overall had gotten patchy, so this time I decided to tone things down a little!

The interior has a bright, clean vibe! As it got later in the afternoon, more customers came in, so I could only photograph some sections.

## The color goal: ash brown with no red or yellow tones

What I wanted from Demon Hair Sinchon Branch this time was ash brown! It's a brown family color, but I didn't want anything too red or yellow, and I also didn't want a color so dark it would look stuffy. Since my existing hair was on the brighter side, I especially wanted to avoid a color that would bring out redness, and instead go for something a bit calmer and softer. I think this kind of tone-down color really suits fall 🍁

### Hair condition check and consultation before the dye

Before actually dyeing, they first checked my current hair condition and existing color. I showed reference photos of the look I wanted, and rather than just saying 'match this exact photo,' they explained what color range was realistically achievable from my current hair, which I appreciated. Since the brightness at the ends and near the roots was a bit different, they factored that in so the color would connect naturally across the whole head.

## How long did the ash brown dye take?

About an hour of applying the dye and waiting! They carefully applied dye to my whole head and checked in the middle to see how the color was developing.

With dyeing, the result matters, but so does whether the process itself is comfortable since you're sitting for a long time. The overall atmosphere was relaxed, so the time passed faster than I expected.

With 'ash' colors, I didn't want something too strongly gray — I wanted enough brown left in it, with just the red and yellow tones properly controlled. When I explained exactly what I wanted during the consultation, they matched the color to my taste!

And finally, the finished Sinchon ash brown dye ✨ When I first looked in the mirror, the color came out much more natural than I expected, which I loved! It wasn't a dull or dark brown — depending on the light, a subtle ash tone would show through, giving the whole head a calm look. Especially since the leftover yellow and red tones were cleaned up, my skin tone looked a bit clearer too!

Indoors it looks like a calm brown, but in natural light the ash tone comes up subtly, giving a different mood entirely. I think it's this elusive quality that keeps me coming back to ash brown haha

Most importantly, if you tone down too dark, it can make your whole face look darker too, but this time it stayed calm while keeping some transparency, which made it perfect for a fall color. They also smoothed out my hair overall and did a lovely blow-dry, so the whole vibe changed clearly before and after. Whenever the season changes, buying new clothes is nice, but changing up your hair color really is the best refresh!
