I wanted to go on a date with my boyfriend after work on Friday, so we headed to Siheung Baegot. While looking for what to eat, I thought of a menu I somehow never get to eat much in Seoul — grilled shellfish!

When you go for grilled shellfish in Seoul, prices are pretty steep, and often you eat this much and think, wait, we're already done? Haha. I wanted to eat shellfish to my heart's content without stressing over the cost of extra orders, so this time I went looking for an all-you-can-eat place.

That's how I found Unlimited Refill Grilled Shellfish Siheung Baegot Branch! Here's my Baegot date review after eating until I nearly burst.

## Where Unlimited Refill Grilled Shellfish Siheung Baegot is, and what Friday night feels like

Unlimited Refill Grilled Shellfish Siheung Baegot Branch is located at 7 Seoultaehangno 264beon-gil, Siheung-si, Gyeonggi-do, in Siheung Baegot Avenue France Central Purple A, 2nd floor.

We visited a bit late on Friday evening. I figured it would be quiet since it was late, but nope... it was actually packed haha. Being Friday, there were lots of tables of friends and also couples like us on dates.

Given how shellfish prices are these days, being able to eat as much shellfish as you want for ₩35,900 per adult felt pretty reasonable to me. Especially if you go in with the mindset of let's really stuff ourselves with shellfish today like we did, it was nice to be able to eat without worrying about the bill, unlike a regular shellfish grill place.

The store also had that day's lineup written up. When I visited, there were so many kinds — bay scallops, razor clams, abalone, pink scallops, and more.

I figured an all-you-can-eat shellfish place would only have a couple of types, but there were way more options than expected, so I started getting excited right there.

## How it works: pick from the tank, then load up at the self-bar

Once you sit down, the owner kindly explains how it works. It's simple. Go to the tank and bring back as much of whichever shellfish you want, and at the self-bar, take as much meat, sides, sauce, and cheese as you like.

For alcohol, drinks, and ramyeon, you bring what you want yourself and put it in the basket on the table, and it gets checked and tallied at final payment.

I actually love this kind of self-service system. No need to call a staff member and wait — whenever I want something, I just go grab it myself. So convenient.

## The tank: take only the scallops, abalone and pen shell clams you want

Right after the explanation, we headed straight for the tank! First off, the tank was really well maintained, which I liked. And looking inside, it was packed full of all kinds of shellfish!

At all-you-can-eat shellfish places, it's sometimes a bummer that you get a plate with shellfish you don't even want mixed in, or the scallops you actually wanted to eat only come on the first plate with no refills.

But here, scallops — as much as you want! Abalone — as much as you want! Razor clams — as much as you want! Hard clams and other shellfish too, you just pick whichever type you want. This is seriously... legendary generosity, no? Haha.

Since I couldn't get too greedy on the first plate, I loaded up a bit of my favorites — scallops, razor clams, abalone. Once the shellfish went on the grill, we headed straight to the self-bar — grabbing meat and sides to eat while the shellfish cooked.

## What's on the self-bar: meats and sides

At the self-bar, the meat options were also more varied than I expected. Pork belly, pork shoulder, pork jowl, beef brisket — the works! We grabbed pork jowl and beef brisket first, along with kimchi and pickled radish to grill alongside or pair with.

I thought this place would actually work fine even with a friend who can't eat shellfish, because the sides were seriously varied — not just the meats. Hash browns, kimchi pancake, corn dogs, ham, rice cakes, tteokgalbi... it was hard to tell if this was a shellfish grill or an all-you-can-eat buffet haha. Great spot for a group looking for a Baegot restaurant for a date or gathering, since everyone can grab whatever suits their taste.

## One pair of tongs each, and how the grilling duties split

They also give you one pair of tongs and scissors per person, which was surprisingly convenient. Roles were naturally divided.

Boyfriend = meat duty, me = shellfish duty. Each of us worked our station diligently haha.

Once the shellfish started opening up, I'd trim them into easy-to-eat pieces, while my boyfriend grilled the pork jowl and beef brisket to a golden brown next to me...

We'd gone in hungry, so we scarfed everything down the moment it was cooked.

## Cheese is unlimited too: corn cheese cooked in shellfish broth

And here's the thing I thought was truly amazing. Cheese is unlimited too.

A lot of places charge extra when you want cheese added to your shellfish. But here, you could grab as much as you wanted from the self-bar. Seriously... does the owner actually make any margin? Haha.

We grabbed cheese right away and made corn cheese with it. Melting the cheese into the broth that comes out of the shellfish tasted amazing, and just eating the corn cheese on its own between bites was great too! Being a cheese lover, this part really won me over.

## Round two: going back for favorites only

After finishing the first plate, I started to get the hang of it. If the first plate was for sampling a bit of everything, from then on it was time to zero in on just my favorites haha.

If you love scallops, load up on scallops; if you love abalone, load up on abalone! And more meat too! I was a bit worried since the meat was unlimited, but it was genuinely good quality meat! Zero off smell, haha, and I understood exactly why this place does such good business.

We really got to enjoy the perks of all-you-can-eat by continuously grabbing more meat and shellfish. At a typical shellfish grill place, you'd hesitate over ordering a few more scallops because of the extra cost, but here, you just walk to the tank. Being able to pick exactly the types I wanted was what I liked most.

## The sauce bar, with recipes posted for mixing your own

The sauce bar had several kinds of sauces ready, and it wasn't just the sauces sitting there — instructions for how to mix them were also written out, so even people unsure of what to combine could follow along and make their own.

Eating shellfish in the same sauce the whole time can get a little tiring after a while, but mixing up different sauces kept things interesting since the flavor kept changing. It was fun combining shellfish, meat, and sides according to my own taste.

## Friday calls for beer: unlimited draft for 6,900 won

And while the shellfish were cooking, beer was a must. Cheers to a cold one! Grilling up piles of shellfish and meat with my boyfriend on a Friday evening with a beer in hand — ah, this is what Friday's all about... haha.

By the way, unlimited draft beer is ₩6,900, so if you're a drinker, adding this on lets you properly eat and drink your fill.

## Self-service, but staff still change the grill foil for you

Since it's a self-service place, I didn't expect much in terms of service, but the owner and staff were all really kind. In particular, the parchment paper on the grill gets dirty fast from continuously cooking shellfish and meat, and the staff kept checking in and swapping it out for us.

Little touches like this kept me in a good mood throughout the meal. The self-service system was convenient, but the staff took care of what needed taking care of, so there was no hassle at all.

## Skipping the ramyeon: finishing with butter-fried hash browns and cheese sticks

They also have ramyeon (instant noodles) available here. Honestly, boiling ramyeon in the leftover shellfish broth at the end of a shellfish grill meal is so good.

But by this point, after eating shellfish, meat, corn cheese, and sides, we were already seriously full haha. So we skipped the ramyeon and, as our true finale, grabbed hash browns plus cheese sticks!

They fried these up golden in butter. It's wild how, even after declaring ourselves full, the smell of butter got us eating again haha.

Frying the hash browns crispy on the outside brought out the savory potato flavor even more, and the warm, freshly fried cheese sticks were the perfect final side. In the end, we walked out having eaten to the point of practically bursting. We didn't set out to get our ₩35,900 worth, but somehow we ended up eating an absurd amount without even meaning to haha.

## Verdict: worth it for a Baegot date if you want shellfish until you're full

Unlimited Refill Grilled Shellfish Siheung Baegot Branch — the place we visited on a Friday date with my boyfriend when we were craving grilled shellfish! What I personally liked most wasn't simply that they give you 'a lot' of shellfish, but that I could pick exactly the shellfish I wanted, in exactly the amount I wanted, myself.

Scallops, abalone, razor clams, and more were all available, and I liked that there was no cap on scallop refills or being forced to take a plate with unwanted shellfish mixed in.

On top of that, unlimited meat like pork belly, pork shoulder, pork jowl, and beef brisket, plus sides like hash browns, corn dogs, and tteokgalbi, and even cheese, all unlimited! Even someone who can't eat much shellfish would have plenty to eat with the meat and sides alone.

The ₩35,900 per person price also felt pretty reasonable to us compared to eating grilled shellfish in Seoul. And more than anything, the owner and staff were kind, even taking care of small things like swapping out the parchment paper on the grill, which made for a genuinely pleasant meal.

Grilling up plenty of shellfish with my boyfriend on a Friday evening and having a beer made for a pretty successful date menu. If you're looking for a Baegot restaurant for a date and want something a bit different from usual, or want to eat grilled shellfish until you're truly full without worrying about cost, this is a place worth a visit.

We finished off with hash browns and cheese sticks fried thoroughly in butter and walked out right on the verge of bursting haha. Next time, I'll pace myself from the start and leave room for the ramyeon with shellfish broth at the end!
