Let me introduce Jeongju Ilga, a dog-friendly bar in Mangwon-dong where you can enjoy tasty Korean dishes with a drink. It's a clean, tidy Korean pub with lots of hearty snack options, and since indoor pet companions are welcome, I went for dinner and drinks with my dog :)

## Where is Jeongju Ilga, and where do you park?

Jeongju Ilga is a dog-friendly bar in Mangwon located a 5-minute walk from Mangwon Station Exit 2. It's in Mangridan-gil, so it's easy to get to, and there are plenty of nearby cafés and restaurants, making it a good spot for meeting friends or a date :)

If you're driving, there's no dedicated parking lot, so you'll need to use a nearby public lot. I used the public parking lot by the Mangwon 1-dong community center, which is a 6-minute walk from the restaurant and had plenty of space, so parking was easy.

## Inside Jeongju Ilga: hanok-style interior and seating

Jeongju Ilga has an overall clean look, with hanok-inspired lighting and props scattered throughout that give it a warm, cozy feel. Even on a weekday visit, it was busy — true to its reputation as a Mangwon-dong favorite — and with seating ranging from tables of 4 to group tables, it seemed well-suited for all kinds of gatherings.

The window-side seats in particular have a full open window that gives an outdoor-drinking feel, and I imagine sitting there with good snacks and a drink on a nice day would make the atmosphere even better.

## Can you bring a dog into Jeongju Ilga?

Jeongju Ilga allows dogs indoors, so I visited with my dog Baekgu. Just keep in mind a carrier bag is required if you bring your pet along 😊

## Jeongju Ilga menu and what we ordered

![Jeongju Ilga's cooked-dish menu board](https://img.superchart.com/images/mangwon-dog-friendly-korean-pub-jeongju/mangwon-dog-friendly-korean-pub-jeongju-08-scvvp-900.webp)

Jeongju Ilga is a Mangwon-dong cooking-and-drinks bar with a Korean food base and traditional liquors. From bossam (boiled pork wrap) and yukjeon (pan-fried beef), banban-jeon (mixed pancake), bulgogi chive pancake, and cheese kimchi pancake, to samgyeop jeyuk (spicy stir-fried pork belly), tofu kimchi, and hanwoo cheese yukhoe (raw beef), there's a wide range of great drinking snacks, plus hearty hot pot dishes and meal options — great for a meal with a drink on the side.

- Full plate yukjeon ₩19,000
- Squid pork belly stir-fry ₩19,000

The complimentary snack was dried fish chips (eopo twigak) — savory and crunchy, a good match with beer, and a nice light way to whet the appetite before the main dishes.

### Full plate of yukjeon (pan-fried beef), 19,000 won

![Yukjeon plate topped with chive salad](https://img.superchart.com/images/mangwon-dog-friendly-korean-pub-jeongju/mangwon-dog-friendly-korean-pub-jeongju-13-13wa3-900.webp)

The full plate of yukjeon arrives generously piled with golden pan-fried beef. Topped with a chive salad in the center of the yellow egg coating, it looked appetizing from the first glance.

The yukjeon used thin cuts of beef layered multiple times for a nice thickness, and the soft meat with the savory egg coating paired really well with the tangy, refreshing chive salad.

### Squid and pork belly stir-fry, 19,000 won

The squid pork belly stir-fry came loaded with plenty of squid and pork belly, a generous portion, and the spicy-sweet sauce was well soaked into every ingredient, giving a deep savory kick with each bite.

![Close-up of squid pork belly stir-fry with spicy-sweet sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/mangwon-dog-friendly-korean-pub-jeongju/mangwon-dog-friendly-korean-pub-jeongju-18-1kaqu-900.webp)

The squid was chewy and the pork belly tender, so eating them together gave a great mix of textures, and the sauce was so good it made me crave a bowl of rice..! We'd already eaten dinner so we skipped the rice this time, but next time I'd love to come back for a full meal with drinks haha.

## Is Jeongju Ilga worth it for a drink with your dog?

With hanok-style props and lighting adding to the cozy, comfortable vibe, Jeongju Ilga is a dog-friendly bar in Mangwon that's great for Korean food and drinks together. The yukjeon's thick meat, savory egg coating, and chive salad combo was excellent, and the squid pork belly stir-fry was generously portioned with tasty sauce that would work well as a meal too.

Above all, since dogs are welcome indoors, if you're looking for a Korean bar in Mangwon-dong to visit with your pet, or a place to enjoy a meal with drinks, definitely check out Jeongju Ilga :)
