Found a ramen spot in Mokdong! Honest review of Gyedan Ramen Mokdong Branch, a new Japanese ramen shop that opened in the basement of the SBS building in Mokdong. It's right in front of Omok Park so it's great to drop into after a walk, and it's close to Omokgyo Station too, so it's perfect for lunch or eating solo. Here's my review of Gyedan Ramen Mokdong Branch, the brand-new Mokdong spot I visited with my daughter.

Right in front of Omok Park, so it was nice to grab lunch here with my kid too — a good ramen find in Mokdong.

## Where is Gyedan Ramen Mokdong Branch, and when is it open?

Gyedan Ramen Mokdong Branch is at B103, B1F, 161 Mokdongseo-ro, Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, in the basement of the SBS Mokdong building. It's open daily from 11:00 to 20:30, and offers 3 hours of free parking.

It's about a 5-minute walk from Exit 2 of Omokgyo Station, and sits directly across from Omok Park so it's easy to find. Head down the stairs next to the Starbucks on the 1st floor of the SBS building, or through the PARK161 shopping center entrance. It also made a nice food stop after a walk in the park.

## Gyedan Ramen Mokdong Branch menu and prices

The ramen menu is really simple.

- Gyedan Ramen (signature menu) — ₩11,000
- Motsu Ramen — ₩12,000

When ordering ramen you can choose the broth concentration — basic or rich!

Side dishes include tamagobap (egg rice bowl) and chashu don (pork belly rice bowl). There are also drinks and beer. If one bowl of ramen alone feels like it's not quite enough, it's nice to add a mini rice bowl.

## A Japanese-style interior with study-café solo seats

![Open kitchen with the word 'ureshii' and wood-tone interior](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyedan-ramen-mokdong-omok-park/gyedan-ramen-mokdong-omok-park-08-673ru-900.webp)

The Japanese ramen shop vibe hit from the entrance. The open kitchen with うれしい (ureshii) written on it caught my eye, and the overall wood-tone interior felt clean. Ureshii means happy, glad, or warmly grateful — and I'm happy a ramen shop opened in Mokdong too, haha.

Since we visited around 3pm, it was a great time to take photos inside. The Japanese-style atmosphere somehow made the ramen taste even better, haha.

There's a study-café-style solo seat — this is the first time I've seen solo seating like this in Mokdong. Since I love Japanese ramen, I think I'll be sitting here often. 🤣

What we ordered: gyedan ramen, motsu ramen, and tamagobap.

### Gyedan ramen (11,000 won) review

The gyedan ramen came out first. Rich tonkotsu broth loaded with chashu, a soft-boiled egg, wood ear mushrooms, and a generous pile of chopped scallions — a really pretty visual for photos too. 📸

Even ordered at basic concentration, the broth was rich and savory. It had that signature heavy tonkotsu taste but wasn't greasy, with a subtle garlic aroma coming through — really delicious.

![Thin straight noodles lifted from the bowl](https://img.superchart.com/images/gyedan-ramen-mokdong-omok-park/gyedan-ramen-mokdong-omok-park-14-g1k46-900.webp)

The chashu was really satisfying. Thick slices, tender and moist. A slight smoky flavor came through and paired well with the broth, and each piece was generously sized — very satisfying, haha.

The noodles were thin and straight, which matched the tonkotsu broth well. Firm enough texture that they didn't get soggy even by the end — delicious to the last bite!

### Motsu ramen (12,000 won) review

I ordered the motsu ramen. The base broth is the same as the gyedan ramen, with fried pork intestines added on top.

I liked how varied the toppings were. The pork intestines in particular had an amazing crispy-yet-chewy texture.

### The soft-boiled egg passes the test too

Cut in half, the yolk oozes out moist and creamy. Stirred a little into the broth, it made everything even richer.

### Why you should add tamagobap to your order

The tamagobap we ordered alongside the ramen — piled high with shredded egg, mixed with minced meat and seaweed flakes.

Savory and nutty, it went great alongside the ramen broth. The portion wasn't too much either, making it just right as a mini rice bowl — recommended for anyone who feels ramen alone isn't quite enough!

## How to eat this Japanese ramen for the best flavour

Three ways to enjoy this Japanese ramen deliciously.

- First, eat the ramen as is
- Then add the secret spicy sauce and enjoy it hot and spicy
- Finally, mix in rice

If you ask for a bowl of rice, Gyedan Ramen gives you a small serving for free!!

## Final verdict on Gyedan Ramen Mokdong Branch

It was nice to see a Japanese ramen specialist open up in Mokdong. With just two ramen options on the menu, it felt even more like a true ramen specialty shop, and I liked being able to choose the broth concentration. Being right across from the park, it's great for a meal after a date or a walk, and the atmosphere makes it easy to eat solo too. If you're looking for a new Japanese ramen spot in Mokdong, Gyedan Ramen Mokdong Branch is worth a visit.
