Our dakbokkeumtang came out in a pot piled high, plenty for a group to share. Chicken and all kinds of ingredients simmered in a red broth, and there was something fun about letting it keep bubbling as we ate. Being a broth dish, it paired especially well with soju. Pick up a piece of chicken, a shot of soju; take a spoonful of broth, another shot... that combo is a pojangmacha classic. After the hot, spicy dakbokkeumtang and the salty, savory corn cheese, something cool and refreshing at the end really hit the spot. It came out shaped like an actual pineapple, which was cute, and eating it cold left my mouth feeling clean and refreshed!
