Bakery café near KTX Ulsan Station with kids: fruit tunnel at MUG
In short
MUG (카페 먹) is a large bakery café with a garden in Sangbuk-myeon (Eonyang), Ulju, Ulsan, about 7 minutes by car from KTX Ulsan Station. While waiting for a train, the writer visited MUG at the weekend lunch peak with two preschoolers. Despite a full house, they got a window seat, tried the olive vegetable ciabatta from more than 20 breads, and explored the garden's fruit tunnel and the Halloween kids care zone. With a nursing room, high chairs and a big garden, MUG is a good place to spend time with kids before catching a train.

MUG: a bakery café near KTX Ulsan Station while you wait for your train

MUG (카페 먹) is a big café in Eonyang, 7 minutes by car from KTX Ulsan Station, with a wide garden and a Halloween-themed kids' room, so it was a great place to spend time with the kids. I was wondering where I could kill some time over a cup of coffee before taking the KTX, and MUG is where my search led me.
It has a spacious garden plus a kids' room decorated for the Halloween mood of late October, so it's really good for spending time with children!
The photo zone is decorated with giant inflatable balloons that totally grabbed the kids' attention 👻 With the colorful, cute Halloween decorations, it felt like October 31 had already arrived! It's a perfect spot for photos with your kids 🧡
Is parking easy at MUG, and can you get a seat on weekends?
MUG is 7 minutes by car from KTX Ulsan Station, and the parking lot is big, so parking wasn't a worry. But I visited around 1:30 PM on a weekend, and there were so many cars that I worried there might be no seats, haha.
As you can probably guess from the packed parking lot... this huge café was completely full, tables and all 😳 No seats at all!!!
But just as I was about to look around once and head out, I lucked into a window seat! Glad I waited a little 💛
Luckily there are plenty of outdoor tables too, so even if the inside is full, check the outdoor area and you'll likely find room. On a nice day, sitting outside might even be better 🌿
There are also plenty of high chairs along one wall! Those visiting with a baby can use them without any worry 😊
MUG drink menu and the one-drink-per-person rule
MUG has a wide range, from coffee to smoothies, ades, lattes and teas, and the rule is one drink per person. Now that we had a seat, I came up to order coffee and drinks.

For those curious about the menu, I've attached the menu board 😊 (※ one drink per person). There are seasonal smoothies too, so if you visit, I recommend giving one a try.
What breads does MUG sell, and how much do they cost?

The bread display at MUG held what looked like well over 20 kinds of bread. This is the area where you pick your bread.

There were so many kinds that I wanted to show you everything on display, so I attached all the photos 🥐🥖 Sadly a few had already sold out and left empty trays, but it still looked like well over 20 kinds!

And even with so many customers, the trays were refilled incredibly fast as the bread sold! Even though I came at the lunch peak, the trays filled up quickly, so I could see most of the breads.

Still, if you want to browse the many kinds of bread at leisure, I recommend visiting before 4 PM!

Personally, I thought the bread prices at MUG were fairly reasonable compared with other large cafés. Salt bread started at ₩3,500, and breads in the ₩4,000 range made up the biggest share.

Of course, generously topped items like pizza bread were around ₩7,000, but overall most were in the ₩4,000 range, so it's easy to pick several kinds without worrying about the price 😊
Bread to try at MUG: olive vegetable ciabatta

If I had to personally recommend one item, it would be the olive and vegetable ciabatta! It was plain but well filled, and I really enjoyed it, haha. If you can't decide among so many breads, give this one a try~
There's also a microwave so you can warm up your bread.

Is the MUG garden good for kids to run around in?
The garden at MUG is quite a bit bigger than I expected, so it was nice for strolling around with preschoolers. My family came with two preschool kids 👧🏻 and to look after wild little ones, a café with a garden to run around in is the best, right!
After a lap you get hungry, so it's the perfect time to buy one more bread, haha.
Nature-watching with kids in MUG's fruit tunnel
On one side of the garden there's a tunnel-like space with all sorts of fruits, plants and vegetables hanging down 🍃 I'm not sure whether they were sponge gourds or bottle gourds, though.
Strolling slowly with the little ones and checking out each thing with "What's this?" was a lot of fun. We naturally observed plants and chatted about all kinds of things, so isn't this basically a field trip in everyday life? haha 🌱
MUG kids care zone and nursing room
MUG has a separate kids care zone set up for customers visiting with children. At the time of my visit, the photo zone was decorated with Halloween season props.

The photo zone is decorated with different props for each season, and above all the space itself is quite large, so it looks great for using with kids 🎃
Besides the restrooms there's a separate nursing room, and the sinks even have filters, so it felt like they really thought carefully about families visiting with kids.
With nature to observe in the garden and good spaces for children, I thought there's no better large, nature-friendly café to visit with kids than this!
