If you're looking for a good lunch spot near Omokgyo Station where you can have delicious Chinese food without making a huge production of it, I highly recommend Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Station Branch. I went after hearing that its jjampong and tray jjajang were especially good, and they really were!

Personally, the real standouts among what I tried were the rich beef-bone seafood jjampong and the seafood tray jjajang. The broth was deep without being aggressively seasoned, while the tray jjajang had such a rich, thick sauce that I ended up mixing rice into it as well as eating it with the noodles.

## Getting there from Omokgyo Station and parking

Search for Yugwanjang Banjeom Omokgyo Station Branch in your navigation app before you go. Building parking is available, but it is limited, so I recommend using the public parking lot instead. Mokdong Public Parking Lot is paid, and the restaurant is 67 m from Exit 2 of Omokgyo Station.

## What are the seats like?

Once inside, I found the restaurant to be very neatly maintained. More than anything, the tables were spaced fairly far apart, which made it comfortable to eat. There was plenty of table space too, so it looked suitable for family visits, gatherings, family work dinners, or meals with several people. There were also lots of nearby office workers there at lunchtime. It was simply clean and comfortable, which I liked.

## What I ordered

- Rich beef-bone seafood jjampong ₩11,000
- Seafood tray jjajang ₩20,000
- Jajangmyeon ₩8,000

I ordered regular jajangmyeon along with the seafood tray jjajang because I was curious about the basic version too.

![Ordered seafood jjampong and tray jjajang](https://img.superchart.com/images/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang-07-j8t0j-900.webp)

The basic side dishes were tasty too.

Beyond noodle dishes, there are plenty of rice dishes, including fried rice and shrimp fried rice. Tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour fried pork) costs ₩19,000 for a small and ₩13,000 for a mini, while six fried dumplings cost ₩7,500. The menu is varied, so if you're visiting with several people, it would be nice to order jajang, jjampong, and tangsuyuk to share.

## How was the rich beef-bone seafood jjampong broth?

### Rich beef-bone seafood jjampong ₩11,000

The first menu item I want to recommend is the rich beef-bone seafood jjampong. This is a jjampong spot! As its name suggests, it was loaded with seafood. There were squid, mushrooms, bok choy, and plenty of other ingredients, so it was fun picking through the toppings along with the broth. But what I loved most was the jjampong broth.

![A bowl of rich beef-bone seafood jjampong](https://img.superchart.com/images/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang-11-1m4cv-900.webp)

![Jjampong with seafood](https://img.superchart.com/images/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang-12-yxpbd-900.webp)

![Jjampong broth and noodles](https://img.superchart.com/images/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang-13-hokhy-900.webp)

From the first sip, I could taste a subtle depth that became more noticeable the more I ate. The broth was full-bodied yet wonderfully refreshing thanks to the clean flavor from the seafood. I thought this would be absolutely perfect for a hangover too.

This place is a jjampong spot!! There was an ample amount of squid in particular, so I wasn't just eating noodles—I kept picking out seafood too, and before I knew it I was constantly spooning up the broth. The noodles were springy as well and paired beautifully with the broth. I especially loved how refreshing it was. Those noodles just keep slurping right down.

## Why did I end up mixing rice into the seafood tray jjajang?

### Seafood tray jjajang ₩20,000

Another dish that was even better than I expected was the seafood tray jjajang. The sauce is so important with tray jjajang, isn't it? Yugwanjang Banjeom's version had a rich, thick sauce that clung tightly to the noodles. The noodles were not overly soft and were cooked just right, so I loved their texture too. From the first bite, the savory depth unique to jajang came through properly, and I kept reaching for more.

It also included seafood, which gave it a different character from regular jajangmyeon. Most of all, the sauce was so good that it felt like a shame to stop once the noodles were gone. In the end, I brought over rice and thoroughly mixed it into the remaining tray jjajang sauce.

If you're looking for tray jjajang near Omokgyo Station, this is the dish I'd recommend. I think anyone who loves jajangmyeon will be very satisfied.

## I also tried the regular jajangmyeon and fried dumplings

The regular jajangmyeon was delicious too. I tried it to compare it with the seafood tray jjajang, and its sauce was also nicely made with plenty of savory flavor, pairing well with the noodles.

![A bowl of regular jajangmyeon](https://img.superchart.com/images/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang-18-yz2uc-900.webp)

![Savory jajangmyeon sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang-19-1h8bd-900.webp)

![Easy-to-eat jajangmyeon](https://img.superchart.com/images/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang-20-1d0p3-900.webp)

The tray jjajang was richer and more abundant, while the regular jajangmyeon was easy and comforting to eat without feeling heavy.

And you can't leave out fried dumplings, right? Since I was at a Chinese restaurant, I couldn't just pass them by, so I ordered them too. They had a nice crisp texture as though they had just come out of the fryer, and they were packed with filling, making them more substantial than I expected. They were good on their own, but dipping them lightly in the tray jjajang sauce was another little treat.

The combination of jajang sauce and crispy fried dumplings worked better than I expected. Having a dumpling here and there between the noodle dishes made the meal feel satisfyingly filling.

## Why I recommend it for lunch near Omokgyo Station

After trying everything, I came away feeling that Yugwanjang Banjeom is a Chinese restaurant that does the basics—jajangmyeon, tray jjajang, and jjampong—really well. The jjampong broth was what stayed with me most from this visit. It had both the refreshing flavor of seafood and the depth of beef bone, so I kept drinking it right to the end.

![Jjampong broth with seafood and beef-bone flavor](https://img.superchart.com/images/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang/omokgyo-haemul-jjambbong-jaengbanjjajang-24-wwvem-719.webp)

The tray jjajang was also rich and delicious enough that I mixed rice into the sauce, so I was very happy with it. The restaurant is clean and has roomy seating, making it seem suitable for anything from eating alone to a family meal out, an office-worker lunch, or a casual gathering. If jjampong broth matters to you, I think you'll be more than satisfied!
