## In short

Gyeongyangsik Dal and Sixpence Main Branch is a Western-style Korean pork cutlet restaurant in Dong-gu, Busan. Two people shared a soba set and an extra-large pork cutlet, with plenty of sauce and cool noodles. Verdict: a filling stop for old-school pork cutlets near Busan Station.

I was looking for somewhere to have lunch near Busan Station, and it had been ages since I’d craved a proper old-school Western-style Korean pork cutlet, so off I went!

The place I visited this time was Gyeongyangsik Dal and Sixpence Main Branch (경양식 달과6펜스 본점).

It’s within walking distance of Busan Station, so it’s great for a meal before or after a train ride, or when you want a hearty lunch around Choryang.

There are lots of Japanese-style tonkatsu places around these days, but if you’re looking for an old-school Busan Station pork cutlet covered generously in sauce, I think this place is well worth trying at least once~!

Based on the latest available store information, it is open from 10:40 AM to 8 PM and closed on Sundays. Do check the hours once more before you go!

That day, I ordered the soba set (soba + pork cutlet) and the extra-large Western-style Korean pork cutlet.

![Soba set and extra-large pork cutlet order](https://img.superchart.com/images/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet-10-10urc-900.webp)

![Soba set and extra-large pork cutlet combination](https://img.superchart.com/images/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet-11-imjol-900.webp)

It was quite a generous combination for two people, and if you especially love pork cutlets, the extra-large serving is definitely worth a look, haha.

## How generous is the extra-large pork cutlet?

![Extra-large Western-style Korean pork cutlet](https://img.superchart.com/images/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet-12-vy4e1-900.webp)

![Generous extra-large Western-style Korean pork cutlet](https://img.superchart.com/images/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet-13-lfbo9-900.webp)

The first thing that caught my eye was the extra-large Western-style Korean pork cutlet. It was clearly more generous than the regular cutlet, so the moment it arrived I thought, “Oh, this is going to fill me up properly!” True to this style of pork cutlet, it comes with plenty of sauce poured over the top.

It has a completely different charm from the Japanese-style tonkatsu that is often served with salt or wasabi these days. The crisp fried cutlet and its soft, lightly sweet sauce came together in exactly that old-school Western-style Korean pork cutlet way I had imagined!

The extra-large Western-style Korean pork cutlet is ₩13,000, while the regular one is ₩10,000. Above all, the sauce was not overly intense, so it went nicely with rice, and I loved its familiar flavor that kept me reaching back for more~!

## A soba set that suited a summer lunch

![Soba set served with pork cutlet](https://img.superchart.com/images/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet-16-e2oaz-900.webp)

I also ordered the soba set. It doesn’t just come with soba; you can enjoy pork cutlet too, making it the perfect choice for anyone who would feel disappointed with only one menu item! A bite of cool soba followed by a bite of crisp pork cutlet was a much better combination than I expected.

![Combination of soba and crisp pork cutlet](https://img.superchart.com/images/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet-18-1g7f8-900.webp)

On a hot day, eating only hot, heavy dishes can feel a little overwhelming, right? Adding the cold, clean-tasting soba freshened my palate along the way and meant I could enjoy the pork cutlet all the way to the end without getting tired of it~!

![Cold soba and pork cutlet](https://img.superchart.com/images/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet-19-36v7h-900.webp)

![Summer lunch soba set](https://img.superchart.com/images/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet/busan-station-soba-set-pork-cutlet-20-17ee1-900.webp)

So if you’re looking for a summer lunch near Busan Station, I’d personally recommend the soba set too.

## A Western-style Korean restaurant starts with soup!

Soup is another thing you just can’t leave out at a Western-style Korean pork cutlet restaurant, haha.

Having warm soup before the pork cutlet arrives somehow makes it feel like an old-fashioned meal out, and I loved that. Add a little shake of the table pepper and it becomes even more familiarly delicious!! Those little touches made it feel like a proper Western-style Korean meal rather than simply eating pork cutlet.

## When you want a hearty meal at Busan Station

There are so many travelers and restaurants around Busan Station that it can be hard to decide where to go. But if, like me, you prefer nostalgic Western-style Korean pork cutlets with lots of sauce over Japanese-style tonkatsu, Gyeongyangsik Dal and Sixpence Main Branch could be a good option.

The extra-large Western-style Korean pork cutlet is especially suited to anyone wanting a hearty meal, and if you want pork cutlet but can’t give up cool noodles, try ordering the soba set~!

It is close to Busan Station and easy to get to, with a relaxed atmosphere for anything from eating alone to lunch for two, so it’s a place I wanted to introduce to anyone looking for pork cutlets near Busan Station~!
