Traveling around Jeju, sometimes you just crave a hot bowl of soup for breakfast or lunch, you know?

This time, while looking for a Jeju restaurant with good haejangguk (hangover soup) near Hyeopjae, I ended up at Hyeopjae On Ttukbaegi.

Above all, the menu ranges from haejangguk to bulgogi, so it was also good for eating a meal together with kids.

## What we ordered at Hyeopjae On Ttukbaegi and the prices

That day we ordered black pork bulgogi for 12,000 won, beef tripe soup for 12,000 won, and a baby haejangguk for 6,000 won.

Since we were in Jeju, I wanted black pork, but I also wanted something hot and soupy, so I picked both — and the combination turned out to be just right, haha.

## Black pork bulgogi, 12,000 won

Jeju really does mean black pork, right :) Grilling black pork at a barbecue place is great, but when traveling with kids, sometimes a simple one-plate meal is just more convenient.

For times like that, the black pork bulgogi was a solid choice.

*You get soup with the bulgogi order too*

It's a dish that goes well with rice, so it made for a filling meal, and pairing it with a soup dish worked even better together. At 12,000 won, it wasn't a heavy price for a meal on a Jeju trip either.

## Hanwoo beef tripe soup, 12,000 won

And this was the one I'd actually been looking forward to — beef tripe soup! When you travel, you often eat a lot the day before, and after wandering around since morning, you just start craving something hot and soupy.

![Beef tripe soup in a ttukbaegi (earthenware pot) at Hyeopjae On Ttukbaegi](https://img.superchart.com/images/hyeopjae-ondduk-bae-gi-black-pork-bulgogi-beef-tripe-soup/hyeopjae-ondduk-bae-gi-black-pork-bulgogi-beef-tripe-soup-14-192re-1200.webp)

Having a bowl of beef tripe soup on hand made my stomach feel settled and made for a good bowl of rice. If you're searching for a Jeju restaurant with good haejangguk near Hyeopjae, this soup dish is worth considering if you're into that kind of thing.

Eating it alongside the black pork bulgogi — meat on one side, hot soup on the other — I really liked that combination :)

## A filling Korean meal near Hyeopjae Beach

In Hyeopjae, people usually go looking for Jeju's signature dishes like hairtail fish or abalone first,

![A Korean meal spread eaten in Hyeopjae](https://img.superchart.com/images/hyeopjae-ondduk-bae-gi-black-pork-bulgogi-beef-tripe-soup/hyeopjae-ondduk-bae-gi-black-pork-bulgogi-beef-tripe-soup-17-1x5s6-900.webp)

![Dishes laid out on the table at Hyeopjae On Ttukbaegi](https://img.superchart.com/images/hyeopjae-ondduk-bae-gi-black-pork-bulgogi-beef-tripe-soup/hyeopjae-ondduk-bae-gi-black-pork-bulgogi-beef-tripe-soup-18-h9xwl-900.webp)

but if every meal is tourist food, at some point you just start craving plain, comfortable Korean food with rice and soup. That's when a place like Hyeopjae On Ttukbaegi comes in handy.

![Table during the meal at Hyeopjae On Ttukbaegi](https://img.superchart.com/images/hyeopjae-ondduk-bae-gi-black-pork-bulgogi-beef-tripe-soup/hyeopjae-ondduk-bae-gi-black-pork-bulgogi-beef-tripe-soup-19-1geto-900.webp)

When choosing where to eat on a trip, taste matters of course, but a place that's easy and comfortable to eat at ends up mattering just as much. Hyeopjae On Ttukbaegi's menu is mostly familiar Korean dishes, so it was easy to walk into and made for a satisfying, filling meal.

![A spoonful of beef tripe soup broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/hyeopjae-ondduk-bae-gi-black-pork-bulgogi-beef-tripe-soup/hyeopjae-ondduk-bae-gi-black-pork-bulgogi-beef-tripe-soup-21-1g42i-900.webp)

The beef tripe soup in particular, with its hot broth, was just right for filling a stomach worn out from traveling around Jeju.

### Baby haejangguk, 6,000 won

Oh, and this 6,000-won baby haejangguk was also a little gem.

![A bowl of baby haejangguk, 6,000 won](https://img.superchart.com/images/hyeopjae-ondduk-bae-gi-black-pork-bulgogi-beef-tripe-soup/hyeopjae-ondduk-bae-gi-black-pork-bulgogi-beef-tripe-soup-22-1nyky-900.webp)

The black pork bulgogi goes well with rice, so eating it together with the beef tripe soup was a great combination :) Since they're such different dishes, ordering one of each and sharing meant we didn't get tired of either and could enjoy the whole meal.

If you're playing around at Hyeopjae Beach and looking for a place to eat, or just craving comfortable Korean food, this is a good spot to stop by. If you're searching for a Jeju restaurant with good haejangguk near Hyeopjae, I'd also recommend the beef tripe soup :)

*Baby spoons and chair all ready*

Like us, you can order both the black pork bulgogi for 12,000 won and the beef tripe soup for 12,000 won and share them, or just keep this in mind for your Jeju trip if you're looking for a hearty meal along with good haejangguk near Hyeopjae :)
