## In short

Hwanggeum Seafood Nurungji-tang is a newly opened seafood nurungji-tang (crispy rice soup) restaurant near Manse-ro in Bijeon-dong, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi. Visiting with a friend, two orders of the seafood nurungji-tang poured into 300°C stone pots plus Jirisan black pork sweet-and-sour tangsuyuk turned out to be a satisfying, hearty lunch loaded with shrimp, baby octopus, mushrooms and bok choy. Recommended if you're after a warming, restorative Pyeongtaek lunch or a place to bring your parents.

Today I'm bringing you a story about Hwanggeum Seafood Nurungji-tang, a place that just opened in Pyeongtaek! I'd been looking for a hearty Pyeongtaek lunch spot lately, and it turns out a place serving piping hot seafood nurungji-tang (crispy rice soup) had just opened up haha. Especially since they pour the soup straight into a stone pot heated to 300°C, I was so curious just from the visuals!!

I'd recommend double-checking the hours before you visit! Hwanggeum Seafood Nurungji-tang is in Bijeon-dong, so it's a great option for anyone looking for a lunch spot near Manse-ro, or eating around Bijeon-dong or Sosabeol.

Above all, there was a big parking lot right in front of the restaurant! It was spacious enough to fit several cars, so you don't really need to worry about parking even if you drive there haha.

## A brand-new, spotless-feeling interior

![Spacious restaurant interior with a beige-toned design](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang-04-ocki1-900.webp)

Since Hwanggeum Seafood Nurungji-tang just opened recently, the moment I walked in I thought, "Wow, this place is really clean!" haha. The whole interior was a calm, tidy beige tone, and the restaurant itself was spacious so there was no cramped feeling at all.

The tables were also spaced generously apart, so it seemed like a good place to bring your parents for a family meal! If you're looking for a clean restaurant in Bijeon-dong, I think you'll be satisfied with the atmosphere too.

## The Hwanggeum Seafood Nurungji-tang menu and prices

![Menu board at Hwanggeum Seafood Nurungji-tang](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang-08-1de1m-900.webp)

![Sign listing nurungji-tang menu prices](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang-09-1u2fw-900.webp)

![Sign listing side dishes like sweet-and-sour tangsuyuk](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang-10-142mw-900.webp)

The main menu items are as follows:

- [300°C stone pot] Seafood nurungji-tang ₩18,000
- Wild ginseng cultured root nurungji-tang ₩22,000
- Abalone emperor nurungji-tang ₩26,000
- [Jirisan black pork] Sweet-and-sour tangsuyuk ₩24,000

That's what's on offer. There were two of us, and we ordered two seafood nurungji-tangs plus the tangsuyuk. Three dishes for two people 🤣 But the tangsuyuk looked so good I couldn't give it up haha.

## Loved the basic side dishes right away

![A full spread of basic side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang-11-1m79x-966.webp)

![Salted squid jeotgal served with the nurungji-tang](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang-12-19g73-900.webp)

![Spicy pickled pepper side dish](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang-13-1fd80-966.webp)

![Kimchi served as a basic side dish](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang-14-1tnst-966.webp)

![Seasoned lotus root side dish plate](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang-15-9wedu-900.webp)

Once you order, they bring out the basic side dishes first. We got salted squid jeotgal, pickled hot peppers, kimchi, and seasoned lotus root. Salted squid jeotgal at a nurungji-tang place, of all things...♥ Putting a bit of the salty squid jeotgal on top of the hot, savory nurungji is genuinely delicious. Add a pickled pepper on top and it gets a bit spicy and really wakes up your appetite!

## Seafood nurungji-tang poured into a 300°C stone pot

And finally, the seafood nurungji-tang I'd been waiting for arrives!! Right in front of you, the staff pour the nurungji-tang into a stone pot that's been heated red-hot. The moment the broth hits the scorching pot — psshhhhhh~~~~🔥🔥

Because the stone pot is heated to 300°C, it's genuinely, incredibly hot. If you try to eat it right when it arrives, watch out for the roof of your mouth 🤣 But since I love hot food, I actually loved that I could keep eating it warm right to the end.

### So much variety of seafood packed in!

![Stone pot seafood nurungji-tang with shrimp and baby octopus](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang-16-1gkb5-m-1200.webp)

It's not just a soup with lots of broth — the ingredients inside were really varied too. Shrimp, baby octopus, mushrooms, bok choy, bell peppers — seafood and vegetables were piled in generously, so every spoonful came up with something in it. This is basically a restorative dish, isn't it...? haha. The savory nurungji soaks up the seafood and broth and gets softer and softer, and it was so delicious. Totally recommend it as a Pyeongtaek lunch spot.

## Why we also ordered the Jirisan black pork sweet-and-sour tangsuyuk

![A plate of Jirisan black pork sweet-and-sour tangsuyuk](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang-17-aevvs-900.webp)

And honestly, we went there for the nurungji-tang, but the dish that surprised me by being unexpectedly delicious was the sweet-and-sour tangsuyuk!! Glad we ordered it. The batter was crispy with that distinctive chewy texture from the sweet rice, and the meat inside was tender too.

What I especially noticed while eating was how clean the oil tasted! There wasn't a hint of that old-oil smell you sometimes get from fried food — it was clean and crispy, and I kept reaching for more. If you visit for the nurungji-tang, I'd definitely recommend ordering the tangsuyuk alongside it!

## Opening event & receipt review event

![Signage for the opening event and receipt review event](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang/pyeongtaek-bijeon-dong-seafood-nurungji-tang-18-1870v-900.webp)

When I visited, being a newly opened restaurant, they were also running an opening event and a receipt review event. The details and duration of these events may change depending on when you visit, so it's worth checking the signage in the restaurant! If you're planning to eat well and leave a review anyway, might as well check out the event too haha.

## Overall verdict — who should visit

It's been a while since I had such a warming, filling meal — Hwanggeum Seafood Nurungji-tang in Pyeongtaek!

- Spacious parking lot right in front
- Newly opened, spotless interior
- Nurungji-tang packed with seafood and vegetables
- The performance of the soup boiling in a 300°C stone pot
- Salted squid jeotgal that pairs perfectly with the nurungji-tang
- Crispy, chewy sweet-and-sour tangsuyuk

I'd especially recommend this to anyone looking for a dish to share with their parents, or for a warming, restorative Pyeongtaek lunch. If you've been searching for a good restaurant near Bijeon-dong or Manse-ro, give Hwanggeum Seafood Nurungji-tang a try. Next time I want to try the abalone emperor nurungji-tang with the abalone in it haha. Another delicious meal today ♥
