A little while ago, my mom, my daughter, and I went to Seongsu-dong—one of the hottest of hot places—for a brand event! We hadn't even done that much, but there were seriously so many people that my mom and daughter seemed worn outㅠㅠ

So we were looking for somewhere to rest, somewhere in Seongsu for a sweet dessert because we needed a sugar boost, when we spotted Bocado Butter. Its cute, huge teddy bear at the entrance had already stolen my daughter's attention! Before we knew it, our little princess was sitting right beside the bear, glued to its side haha.

### A café near Exit 3 of Seongsu Station

Bocado Butter is open Thursday through Tuesday from 10:30 to 22:00, and on Wednesdays from 13:00 to 22:00. It is very close to Exit 3 of Seongsu Station on Subway Line 2.

When you walk past the store, the scent of desserts baking to a golden brown makes it impossible not to stop. At first my mom said, “Doesn't it look a bit like a crêpe?” Looking closer, I thought I could see why—it looks similar at a glance, though the texture and flavor are completely different. There were Japanese visitors eating nearby, too, so I thought this must be a dessert that has really won over Japanese tourists' taste buds!!

Actually, “bocado” has nothing to do with Japanese—it is said to mean “a bite” in Spanish. The name was chosen with the hope of leaving an unforgettable impression with just one bite of dessert. The look was so new to me that I was really curious.

## We ordered Signature Bocado and drinks

We were so thirsty that my mom and I each ordered a drink, plus a coconut ice cream for my daughter and a box of the signature bocados. While we waited, we looked around the small but atmospheric café interior. Maybe because the weather had turned nice, lots of people seemed to be sitting on the outdoor bench or getting takeout. It is close to date spots around Seongsu, Ttukseom, and Seoul Forest, so there seemed to be a lot of takeout orders.

## Crispy bocados with buttery cream flavor

This was the star I was so curious about because it looked thin and crispy! When I watched them baking, I couldn't tell whether there was marshmallow inside or what it would taste like. The crisp crust, fragrant buttery cream, and soft flavor came together with a lovely chew; with coffee, it was the kind of thing you never get tired of and just want to keep picking at!!

## Coconut ice cream is a must alongside it

Personally, I really recommend ordering the coconut ice cream with it. It is mild and nutty and delicious on its own, but putting it on a bocado is honestly the best combination. From that point, it becomes a matter of addiction... haha. The butter and coconut blend together, and cold softness lands on top of that crunch—there could not be a better one-bite dessert.

I wanted to relax a little longer, but because of a parking issue we had to gather our things and leave in a hurryㅠㅠ So as I drove, my mom handed me bites of bocado and ice cream, and they were so delicious that we finished them in no time. Maybe we should have bought more haha. It was nice that we could eat them neatly in the car without dropping crumbs.

At first, my daughter said she would eat only the ice cream. But after watching my mom and me eat the bocados together with it, she got curious and copied us—and then kept piling them together to eat haha. Bocado Butter, a Seongsu dessert spot that won over both kids and adults in one bite!!!
