I had plans in Bangbae and was looking around for somewhere to go when I visited Osteria Ottivo (오스테리아 오티보), which had a nice atmosphere and a varied menu. To give you the conclusion first: if you are looking for a good Italian restaurant in Bangbae that works for everything from dates to family meals and gatherings, this is one to remember. I had the Caesar salad and gnocchi, and the gnocchi—with its creamy sauce and deep cheese flavor—was what I remembered most from this meal. Plus, I came by car, and being able to hand it over for valet right at the entrance and walk straight in meant I did not have to worry about parking at all. So convenient.

As soon as I walked in, the restaurant was more spacious than I expected, and I thought, oh? This would work well for gatherings too. Marble-look walls, gold lighting, and wood tables create an atmosphere that is neither too formal nor too casual. There is greenery visible through the window-side area as well, so during the day it felt bright and relaxed overall.

I also spotted a separate set of children’s cups, plates, and cutlery on one side. Going to an Italian restaurant with children can be unexpectedly inconvenient when there is only adult tableware, so seeing this made me understand a little more why so many people come here for family meals.

At lunch, there are one-person and two-person sets, making it a nice option for a lunch appointment or brunch. There was also a broad wine selection, so I thought it would pair nicely with a glass of wine in the evening.
