## Creamy jjamppong across from Bongdam Jungheung S-Class The First

Bobae Banjeom, famous for its thick, spicy creamy jjamppong, I finally made it there!!!

It is in a really visible spot, right across from Bongdam Jungheung S-Class The First! There is no dedicated parking, but there is room for around 2–4 cars behind the building. You may find spaces in the little side streets too, but weekends get a bit crowded, so I recommend public transport or walking!

## A spacious, spotless dining room and self-service bar

The interior was so clean that I had a great first impression right away, hehe. The tables were roomy, the floors were clean, and everything felt hygienic—I loved it. It was such a comfortable atmosphere to eat in.

Bobae Banjeom Bongdam Branch has a self-service bar, and it was kept very neat. Whenever diners spilled food, the staff checked often and wiped it up right away ~ ᵕ̈ There was zha cai (pickled mustard stem), cabbage, and pickled yellow radish, and the cabbage was super fresh :)

What was interesting is that rice is free at Bobae Banjeom Bongdam Branch!! If you usually eat a lot, you can freely get more from the self-service bar with no extra charge. I took a small scoop to eat with the black bean sauce, and it was warm, fluffy, and tasty > . <

While waiting for the food, I looked around the restaurant. You know exactly what I mean by that clean feeling, right-!!

Oh, and the space between tables is wider than it looks in the photos~ We went a little before lunch, and by the time our food came out it was nearly full, but even with lots of people it did not feel hectic—just comfortable and clean!! Hahaha

How to spot a thoughtful restaurant: whether it has chargers and hair ties. They are little things, but when you need them, you are so grateful and happy to find them. It really makes you think, wow, this place is thoughtful ˚ ༘♡

## Creamy jjamppong, jajangmyeon, and mini tangsuyuk

Creamy jjamppong ₩14,000, jajangmyeon ₩7,500, and mini tangsuyuk ₩14,000. The food came out incredibly quickly!! No lie, it felt like five minutes...? Looking at the timestamps in my photo album, it really took under 10 minutes, haha!

It would not be an exaggeration to say I came to Bobae Banjeom just for this •• Its thick, generous creamy jjamppong! It is somewhere between regular jjamppong and spicy cream pasta...? The broth is thicker than regular jjamppong but thinner than pasta sauce, so it is perfect for scooping up with a spoon. .ᐟ .ᐟ

Look at how moist and thick it is ㅜ ㅜ ~ The portion was like 1.5 servings... Since it is cream-based, it could get rich, but the spiciness cuts right through it! If you like spicy cream pasta, lots of sauce, and a deep buttery aroma, you will definitely be happy with this. 𓂃𓈒𓏸

There was lots of seafood inside, and especially the shrimp were huge, so it was great biting into seafood throughout. There were three or four peeled shrimp. There was plenty of squid too, and the onions were crisp rather than mushy ㅜ So good.

Honestly, I ordered the jajangmyeon because it was inexpensive and did not expect much, but it was classic neighborhood-style jajangmyeon! Haha

If you like clean, old-school jajang without an overpowering flavor, you should be comfortably satisfied with it! The black bean sauce had soaked nicely into the noodles too, haha.

We ordered the tangsuyuk (sweet-and-sour fried pork) in the mini size. Usually when two people go out, you want tangsuyuk too, but hesitate when the smallest option is a small size 🥺 The mini was ₩14,000, so it was easy to order without feeling burdened! The pork had no off smell and came in a crispy batter. We like both sauce-poured tangsuyuk and dipping it in sauce, so we had half each way 😋 The sauce was sweet and tangy with a tomato flavor! Paired with sweet onions, I could have kept eating it forever, hehe.

## Free freshly ground coffee after the meal

Bobae Banjeom Bongdam Branch has a self-service coffee zone, so after the meal you can have a hot or iced Americano however you like 🤭 We went for lunch, so it was exactly the time we needed a coffee refill, and I could not believe we could enjoy freshly ground coffee like this for free.. ~ -`♡´- The beans were dark with no acidity.

I had wanted to visit because Bobae Banjeom's creamy jjamppong was trendy for a while, and other tables were ordering it too. It now feels less like a trend and more like Bobae Banjeom's own steady best-selling dish! Thanks to the clean restaurant and kind staff, we finished our meal in a great mood ☺️ It is a nice restaurant to visit when you want Chinese food that is a little different. Even as I write this review, I keep thinking about that creamy jjamppong 🤤
