It's open weekdays from 11am to 11pm, with last order at 10:30pm, a break time from 4 to 5pm, and closed on weekends. There's no parking, so I'd recommend using a nearby public parking lot or coming by public transit. I ended up at Huhugwan while looking for a place near City Hall Station for a wedding invitation gathering! Visiting in person, the food was great, but honestly what stood out most was the atmosphere and the seating layout — it's a place I'd genuinely recommend for a group get-together. City Hall in particular is one of the more convenient spots in Seoul transit-wise, so it's a great midpoint when friends are coming from different areas. Beyond regular tables, there are bar seats and sofa seats too, so you can pick whatever suits your group size or the mood you're going for. Seat choice matters especially when you're visiting with a bigger group, and the spacing between tables here is generous, so it felt easy to chat comfortably with friends while eating. The bar seats are good for a more casual meal, while the sofa seating lets you enjoy a more relaxed vibe — nice to have the option depending on your mood. When you think of Chinese food, jjajangmyeon, jjamppong or sweet and sour pork usually come to mind first — but Huhugwan had everything from unfamiliar dishes I'd rarely seen before to the more familiar staples. Going through the menu, there were quite a few dishes with names I'd never seen, which made me curious how they'd taste. If you like trying new food, there's real fun to be had picking something you've never tried before. On the flip side, for anyone who finds unfamiliar dishes a bit daunting, there were plenty of more familiar options too, like braised pork belly — so you can choose based on your preference. All three had distinct flavors and textures, making them a great combination to order together and share. First, the majangmyeon had a sauce with a nutty peanut-and-sesame flavor that paired really well with the noodles. The sauce itself was rich and nutty, and the more you mixed the noodles through it, the more that flavor came through — a different kind of appeal from your usual noodle dish. If you like nutty, savory flavors, you'd especially enjoy this one. The mapo tofu had soft tofu paired with a spicy, savory sauce that worked really well together. It could easily be too intense on its own, but eating it with rice mellowed out the spiciness and made it even more enjoyable. And the yurinchi had crispy fried meat with a tangy-sweet sauce that really woke up the palate. When you're making plans with friends, everyone lives or works somewhere different, so it's always a hassle figuring out where to meet. In those cases, City Hall is convenient to get to from a lot of different areas, so it works well as a midpoint meeting spot.
