After a heavy lunch, we skipped the chicken stew and ordered the old-style whole fried chicken and the fried chicken gizzards for two, and the crispy batter with the old-fashioned sweet sauce stood out. It's chilly morning and night. Everyone please watch out for colds~ apparently flu and COVID are going around again these days. If you catch flu or COVID, you can't go out to all the good restaurants in Yeonsan-dong and have to stay home. How sad is that! I've been going to Yeonsan-dong a lot lately~ and if you've ever been there, you've definitely seen this sign at least once!!! You can't miss it!! Yetnal Tongdak & Tang. Have you all seen it too? I pass by it all the time and sometimes stop in for their tasty chicken stew or whole fried chicken. This is actually my first post about it! Haha, writing this post I suddenly got curious. You end up noticing these little details when you write things up. Wow, this is perfect for a group of drinkers!! Amazing. Drinkers have such stamina. While I'm asleep, they're still going strong until dawn. Truly impressive~~ I wish I had that stamina too. You can really feel how many years' worth of writing is on there. Is this like wallpaper for good restaurants? Reading each scribble one by one was actually pretty fun. People writing down their ex's names... ha. Leaving phone numbers, lol. I should look and see if my husband's name is here somewhere. It'll probably be popular in Seomyeon too. I'll have to check it out next time I'm there. Besides fried chicken, they also sell chicken stew and Andong-style braised chicken, with the chicken stew being especially famous. Looking around at the tables, most people seem to order the recommended stew plus chicken or gizzard combo~ I'd had way too much rice at lunch that day, so fried chicken sounded better than chicken stew! So we ordered the whole fried chicken and the fried gizzards! Ha, now that I look at this, I want the chicken stew too, and I want to demolish some fried rice on top of that. Chicken and salad are a match made in heaven. I refilled the salad twice. Do you all like the combo of salad and fried chicken (tongdak) too? Lol. It feels like here I should say tongdak instead of chicken, haha, I keep typing tongdak. Anyway, those shrimp chips look like they're fried in-house too — what do you even fry to get them to turn out like that? Genuinely curious. I'll have to look into it later! I really love the big-brand shrimp chips, so if I could make them at home that'd be even better. The whole fried chicken arrived. You can really see the crispiness even in the photo. It looks so good. It's literally that old-school fried chicken sauce from back in the day. This is another thing Yetnal Tongdak & Tang does really well. You have to dip it generously in that sauce. I mean like swirl it around once, twice, three times in the sauce. So, so good. ## Would I go back to Yetnal Tongdak & Tang? We had such delicious, crispy whole fried chicken. Next time I'll have to go back for the chicken stew. Open late into the night, it's also perfect as a late-night snack spot!
