## In short

Masan Ssamjangjip is a Korean set-meal and ssambap (lettuce-wrap rice) restaurant on Haean-daero in the Daetgeori area of Haeun-dong, Masanhappo-gu, Changwon. Two diners were seated at 11:40am on a Sunday and ordered the spicy pork set at 14,900 won per person, which came with 30 side dishes, a free unlimited Hangang ramyeon bar and a dessert corner, and the signature snail barley doenjang was the dish that stood out most. By 12:20pm two parties were already waiting, so a Naver reservation is the safer plan for weekend lunch at Masan Ssamjangjip.

This is a Daetgeori restaurant in Masan, Ssamjangjip. It's closed every Tuesday, open 11:00–21:00, with a break time from 14:00–17:00. I parked in the public lot across the street, and Naver reservations are available — there are also waiting seats and baby chairs.

Masan Ssamjangjip offers a whopping 30 side dishes at a low price, plus unlimited free Hangang ramyeon and a dessert zone stacked with fruit, rice cakes, and snacks. It's a place that even gets waiting lines during weekend lunch peak, and it's especially popular with older diners. If the pickiest Korean-food connoisseurs are choosing this place, that says something, right? 👀 I'll note the weekend lunch wait situation too, so take it as a reference!

## Where is Masan Ssamjangjip in Haeun-dong, and where do you park?

![Exterior of Masan Ssamjangjip along the Daetgeori coastal road](https://img.superchart.com/images/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait-02-17gt5-900.webp)

Masan Ssamjangjip is on the 2nd floor at 65 Haean-daero, Masanhappo-gu, right along the coastal road in Daetgeori, so it wasn't hard to find. For parking, I used the public lot across from the restaurant. Good to know if you're driving :)

## Inside Masan Ssamjangjip: mother-of-pearl cabinets and a private room

![Interior with mother-of-pearl furniture and rustic props](https://img.superchart.com/images/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait-03-107w9-900.webp)

Walk in the door and the first things you notice are the mother-of-pearl cabinet and rustic little props! It felt like visiting grandma's house — a nostalgic vibe. But even with that old-fashioned feel, everything was kept clean and comfortable to eat in.

There's also a separate room for family outings or group gatherings, so it looked like a good fit for dining with several people! And of course, baby chairs are available too :)

### Sunday lunch: two parties waiting within 40 minutes

We got to Masan Ssamjangjip around 11:40am on a Sunday, and at that point about 4 tables were already eating. But as we ate, by around 12:20pm two waiting parties had already formed. If you're visiting during weekend lunch or dinner peak hours, I'd recommend booking ahead through Naver reservations.

![Dining hall packed with Sunday lunch customers](https://img.superchart.com/images/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait-05-6yc2a-900.webp)

You can probably tell from the photos too — there were a lot of older customers, really. If a Korean restaurant draws that many senior diners, the taste is already kind of pre-verified, right? Haha. The pick of picky Korean-food masters, say no more~

![Self-serve Hangang ramyeon corner](https://img.superchart.com/images/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait-06-nk0w7-900.webp)

### Free unlimited Hangang ramyeon bar and dessert corner

Another great thing about this Haeun-dong, Masan spot! You get free, unlimited Hangang ramyeon. And it's not just one kind — there are actually 4 kinds, so you can pick whichever suits your taste. We were already stuffed from the meal itself with just the two of us, but for a bigger group, sharing a bite of each would be perfect.

![Dessert zone with old-fashioned snacks, rice cakes, and fruit](https://img.superchart.com/images/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait-08-1ibay-900.webp)

There's also a separate dessert zone. It's stocked with all kinds of old-fashioned snacks, rice cakes, fruit, and peanuts, so you can freely help yourself after your meal. No need to go to a café afterward — dessert's handled right here. How great is that~

## Masan Ssamjangjip menu and prices

![Menu board for spicy pork, beef short ribs, and mackerel sets](https://img.superchart.com/images/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait-09-10boh-900.webp)

The menu is simpler than you'd expect. The hearty basic side dishes and self-serve bar are shared across all options, and you just choose your main: spicy pork, beef short ribs, or mackerel. From elementary school age it's one dish per person, and the kids' menu is ₩8,000, so it looked like a solid spot for a family meal with children too.

## Honest review of the 14,900-won spicy pork set with 30 side dishes

![Spicy pork set for two, table packed with side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait-10-1d7b0-1200.webp)

Order — spicy pork set (₩14,900 per person × 2). Not long after ordering, the table started filling up with food. The table legs practically bent under the weight of side dishes — a Korean buffet has nothing on this. Even after loading us up like that, they kept telling us to say if anything was running low, which really showed their generosity!

The basic side dishes alone number a whopping 30, filling the table without a gap. There were so many kinds it was hard to note them all! From crowd-pleasers like tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties), japchae (glass noodle stir-fry), and sausages, to fresh ssam (wrap) vegetables, mu-saengchae (spicy radish salad), stir-fried mushrooms, stir-fried zucchini, miyeok julgi (seaweed stem), braised radish, stir-fried fish cake, and kkaennip-jangajji (pickled perilla leaves) — really varied.

![Basic side dishes including tteokgalbi and japchae](https://img.superchart.com/images/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait-11-139x2-900.webp)

And this Masan set-meal spot doesn't just win on variety — every single side dish tasted good too. Places that serve tons of side dishes these days sometimes repeat the same seasoning flavor or lean too heavily on MSG, but here everything felt clean!

Overall, instead of the heavy-handed flavors of typical eating-out food, it tasted like a carefully prepared home-cooked spread of many side dishes — I think anyone who loves Korean food like me would love this. There were so many side dishes to mix and match that a whole bowl of rice disappeared before I knew it, haha.

### Tofu with aged kimchi, pajeon, acorn jelly salad and blue crab doenjang stew

The rinsed aged kimchi served with tofu was especially good — my boyfriend ate almost all of it. The deep sourness and umami particular to aged kimchi came through without being overwhelming, and paired perfectly with the mild tofu!

![Plate of tofu with rinsed aged kimchi](https://img.superchart.com/images/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait-17-i4l1o-900.webp)

![Pajeon scallion pancake and acorn jelly salad](https://img.superchart.com/images/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait-18-7591d-900.webp)

The pajeon (scallion pancake) had a crisp, golden exterior that paired nicely with the moist interior, and the acorn jelly salad had a chewy jelly texture with a tangy, spicy dressing and vegetables that whet the appetite.

And you can't skip the doenjang stew (soybean paste stew) that came standard — it was loaded with blue crab, sea squirt, and tofu, so the broth itself had that refreshing, savory umami of seafood. The earthy flavor of the doenjang combined with the sweet aroma of blue crab and the ocean scent of sea squirt — exactly the kind of stew you want to dip a spoonful of rice into!

### The spicy pork and the signature snail barley doenjang

The spicy pork main was coated in a slightly spicy sauce. The seasoning soaked well into the meat, so with each bite a sweet-spicy flavor rose up, and it went perfectly with rice! Put a piece of pork on a lettuce leaf with garlic and ssamjang (dipping paste) — you really can't go wrong with that combo, haha.

![Plate of spicy seasoned stir-fried pork](https://img.superchart.com/images/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait-20-jp4ff-900.webp)

And surprisingly, what stuck with me the most was this place's signature nagari barley doenjang (snail barley soybean paste). True to its name, it's soybean paste made with barley and river snails, with a savory, salty umami that was spot on — honestly, I kept thinking about this while wrapping ssam.

![Signature nagari barley doenjang paste](https://img.superchart.com/images/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait/masan-ssamjangjip-sunday-lunch-wait-21-1hxg0-900.webp)

It even made me think a piece of ssam vegetable with just rice and a little of this barley doenjang on top would be delicious on its own! The earthy savoriness of the doenjang plus the chewy texture of the snails made it feel far richer than a regular ssamjang. There's a reason it's called the signature dish.

I was already stuffed just from the meal, so I couldn't eat much dessert and only tried a bit of rice cake. Honestly there was a lot I wanted to try — the fruit, the old-fashioned snacks — but after 30 side dishes plus the spicy pork, my stomach just wouldn't cooperate anymore, haha. Next time I'll plan ahead and pace myself so I have room for dessert too.

## Is Masan Ssamjangjip worth it? Final verdict

If you want a hearty Korean set meal in Daetgeori, Masan at a reasonable price, I'd recommend Ssamjangjip. At ₩14,900, you get 30 side dishes plus free access to Hangang ramyeon and dessert — a genuinely solid deal just going by the setup! More than the sheer number of side dishes, the overall seasoning wasn't overdone while still keeping good umami — clean, home-cooked-style delicious — so I think anyone who loves Korean food would really enjoy it.

The staff kept checking whether we were short on any side dishes and were friendly throughout, which made the whole meal feel good. There's clearly a reason so many older customers come here. It works well for everything from family outings to meals with your parents, so if you're looking for a good-value Korean set-meal or ssambap restaurant in Masan, I'd recommend giving it a visit!
