Even in the middle of that chaotic rush, the owner and staff grilled the meat from start to finish with smiling faces. But the sharp, kind owner noticed the extra order on the tablet, came over, and let us know that stone-pot kimchi rice and steamed egg were already part of the couple set by default! "Try the amount that's already included first — if it's not enough, you can add more later," she said kindly, and personally helped cancel the extra order we'd placed. The kids gobbled it up so fast that we ended up ordering it again anyway! (Extra ending after all ♡) And the biggest secret of this Janggi-dong pork belly spot was the owner's own custom-made grill plate. As the meat cooks to a golden brown, the savory fat that comes off it lets you grill kimchi right alongside. And the moment I placed the order, the staff told us the tablet showed that the pork belly I'd just ordered was the very last one — everything prepared for the day was now sold out! Knowing we'd just managed to snag the last limited portion made the meat taste even more special and delicious. Densely scored for a chewy texture, with rich juices bursting in every bite — it's an addictive flavor I still find myself craving. Thanks to the variety of sauces, we could enjoy the meat in so many different combinations, and the self-serve bar stayed spotless the whole meal, without a speck of dust — total satisfaction throughout.
