## In short

Yennal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Yongin Main Branch is a neighborhood sundaeguk (pork and blood sausage soup) restaurant on the jokbal street of Yongin Central Market in Yongin, Gyeonggi. On a market day at 11am, the writer and her mom ordered sundaeguk, the version without sundae, and a large chapssal sundae (glutinous rice blood sausage) for 33,000 won in total, and still waited 10 minutes because the place was full right at opening. The large chapssal sundae was so generous that the leftovers went home in a takeout box.

Yennal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Yongin Main Branch is a small sundaeguk restaurant near the jokbal (pig's trotters) street of Yongin Central Market. It's famous among locals as a Yongin Market must-visit, so it's always packed no matter when you go — a real, certified good spot haha. It's a place I love, so I come back pretty often.

![Main photo of the sundaeguk table setting at Yennal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Yongin Main Branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap-01-1720w-1200.webp)

There are more branches now that it's become a chain, and I've tried the others too, but I still like the main branch best haha.

## Where is Yennal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk in Yongin Central Market, and how long is the 11am market-day wait?

Yennal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Yongin Main Branch is a small restaurant located around what I'd call the jokbal street of Yongin Market. Opening hours differ between weekdays, weekends, and market days, so it's good to check before you go!

![Exterior of Yennal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Yongin Main Branch on the jokbal street of Yongin Central Market](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap-02-seunu-875.webp)

I visited on market day with my mom, and even though we arrived at 11am — early for a meal — the place was already full, so we waited about 10 minutes before getting a table.

## Yennal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk menu and prices in Yongin

## What we ordered: sundaeguk, sundaeguk without sundae and a large chapssal sundae for 33,000 won

- Sundaeguk ₩11,000
- Sundaeguk without sundae ₩11,000
- Large chapssal sundae ₩11,000
- Total ₩33,000

Since customers keep pouring in, the food came out really fast after ordering. I ordered sundaeguk, and my mom ordered hers with just innards and meoritgogi, no sundae — and the visuals were absolutely perfect~~

![Sundaeguk served with side dishes on the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap-06-bkoq2-900.webp)

There weren't a huge number of side dishes, but they were exactly the good kind, so good good.

![Napa cabbage kimchi side dish described as sticking to your palate](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap-08-1h6cc-900.webp)

The napa cabbage kimchi here is especially delicious — I'm curious how they make it, or maybe they source it from somewhere. It's the kind of flavor that just sticks to your palate, seriously.

![Cheongyang chili peppers, salted shrimp, and seasoning on the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap-09-12ce9-900.webp)

Every table has cheongyang chili peppers, salted shrimp, and seasoning, so you can add as much as you like.

## How does the sundaeguk taste? An earthenware bowl full of meoritgogi and innards

The sundaeguk at Yennal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Yongin Main Branch comes out in an earthenware pot still bubbling furiously — looks like something out of an inferno haha. It's better a little spicy, so add a bit of cheongyang chili.

![Sundaeguk earthenware pot boiling furiously](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap-10-hah4c-900.webp)

There are about 3 plump sundae (blood sausages) in there,

![Plump sundae inside the sundaeguk](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap-11-nd553-900.webp)

and the rest is packed full of meoritgogi and innards. Since they boil and prepare everything in-house, it's really tender with almost no gamey smell — a satisfying place every time I eat here.

My mom ordered hers without sundae, so hers had way more meat, and she shared some with me. hehe.

Mix in some rice, pile on a bit of meat and a piece of kimchi, and take a big bite — it's the kind of taste that just makes you go wow haha. But it's really hot, so if you're not careful you'll burn yourself — make sure to blow on it first.

The kkakdugi (radish kimchi) was nicely tangy and went well with the rice too.

## How big is the large chapssal sundae portion?

The chapssal sundae came out soon after the soups. Secret confession: both my mom and I actually prefer soft, chewy chapssal sundae over the Byeongcheon sundae or blood-sausage-heavy style...!! Maybe because I grew up eating this kind first, but to me, sundae just means chapssal sundae haha.

![Large-size plate of chapssal sundae](https://img.superchart.com/images/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap/yongin-market-gyeongseong-sundae-gukbap-18-1ccvb-900.webp)

We ordered the large size and got a whole basketful — very satisfying + we ended up with leftovers, which we neatly packed up to take home.

The salt comes in its own little individual packet, which gives it a nice, clean touch haha.

The liver that came alongside it was moist and mild, which I liked. I actually prefer the slightly drier liver over the softer, chewier lung.

What is there to say about chapssal sundae~~ It's great dipped in salt, and just as great with a bit of ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste) — either way, the combo works really well!

## Final verdict on Yennal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk Yongin Main Branch

For anyone looking for good places to eat at Yongin Central Market, I'd recommend giving Yennal Gyeongseong Sundaeguk a try. It's a place I've never been disappointed by no matter how many times I go, so you can trust it and dig in.

It's also nice that you can customize your order — no sundae, no innards, whatever you like haha. It's good for a meal like I had, and also great for ordering some anju (drinking snacks) and having a drink at night — recommended!
