A great spot to eat with resort vibes after a fun day at Songjeong Beach. The outdoor seats even allow pets, so we got to enjoy a distinctive BBQ-plus-camping-skewer set at The Barbecue 051, a Songjeong, Busan restaurant.

There's a dedicated Barbecue 051 parking lot right across the street, so it's really convenient! The lot starts partway up the hill,

and you can park pretty comfortably. Space for 10+ cars? Group visits shouldn't have any parking trouble.

## Indoor seats or the pet-friendly outdoor terrace?

The indoor seats at The Barbecue 051 are all wood-tone, while the outdoor seats have a resort feel with palm trees laid out. On cool autumn evenings, the outdoor seats are overwhelmingly better.

The indoor seating is all wood-tone, so it feels like you've wandered into a mountain lodge somewhere,

while the outdoor seating has an open view with palm trees laid out, giving off major Southeast Asian resort vibes!! Indoor is nice too, but on an autumn evening like this — not humid, with a cool breeze — the outdoor seats are sooooo much better.

In fact, we went after Lotte World Busan closed, past 9pm on a weekend evening, and the outdoor BBQ seating was still completely full. By the time we finished eating around 10:30pm, a few outdoor seats had opened up. You can even choose indoor or outdoor seating with Naver Reservation, so booking ahead is a good idea on weekend evenings!

Since it's near Songjeong Beach with Yonggungsa Temple and Osiria also close by, they get a lot of families, so things like high chairs are well set up. I didn't ask directly, but it looks like they also give out water bowls for pets?

The Barbecue 051 menu is simple — just two set menus that include meat and camping skewers, plus sides. Sauces, side dishes, and wrap greens come from the self-serve bar.

The menu is neatly limited to two set menus with meat and camping skewers, plus sides to go with them.

After ordering, they lay out the basic side dishes while you wait. The dubu-kimchi (tofu with kimchi) comes with a warm whole block of tofu, which was a nice surprise.

And pickled onions and chicory that go great with the meat. Quite a variety of sauces too! There's a spicy one, so you can eat however you like. Cutting the whole tofu block with chopsticks works surprisingly well, by the way.

There was a nice variety of wrap greens too. My mom loves angelica leaf, and she was thrilled — it's been a while since she found a BBQ place that has it.

Set the skewers off to the side to gently grill in the residual heat and put the main meat on first! The pork neck only needs a quick sear on the outside — you can eat it moist and juicy inside.

## Camping skewers dipped in peanut sauce and breadcrumbs

The skewers at The Barbecue 051 are dipped in peanut sauce and breadcrumbs. The lineup seems to change a little day to day, and vegetables that turn sweet over open flame are skewered in with the meat.

And here's the unusual part!!! They give you peanut sauce and breadcrumbs to dip the skewers in. What kind of combination is that, I wondered, but—

it's sweeter than expected, mostly that distinct nutty richness, and the breadcrumbs add a crunchy texture too — a surprisingly good and unusual combo. It seems like something the owner developed after a lot of camping trips.

And then the shrimp-sausage skewer, which is visually explosive. Obviously it tastes like grilled shrimp and grilled sausage, but come on, it's just so pretty. If someone handed me one of these grilled up on a breezy outdoor terrace with camping vibes, I'd fall for them instantly.

This one gets dipped in sauce too. Weirdly addictive. Maybe because I love mala tang.

The Barbecue 051, a Songjeong, Busan restaurant where we fully soaked in the resort atmosphere and ate like we were truly on vacation. If you've had your fun at Songjeong Beach and are looking for a BBQ spot with a special vibe, I'd recommend it for a date or as a dinner spot that feels like a family trip!
