How did everyone shake off the parenting stress with a good lunch this week? Now that our baby has hit 18 months and gotten way more active, whenever we eat out on a weekday lunch, we look first for a restaurant that's spacious and easy to bring a baby to.

A little while ago, on a weekday lunch, I was really craving a hot, spicy broth, so my husband said, "Let's head over near Seooreung today and get some spicy jjamppong (spicy seafood noodle soup) and chewy tangsuyuk (sweet and sour pork)!" So we hopped in the car happily and went.

The place turned out to be spacious and comfortable enough for even an 18-month-old, and we were won over by the deep meat-broth flavor and the chewy sweet rice tangsuyuk — this was Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch, located at 424 Seooreung-ro, 1st and 2nd floor, Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi!

## Spacious dedicated parking and a store that's great to visit with a baby

- Address: 424 Seooreung-ro, 1st & 2nd floor, Deogyang-gu, Goyang, Gyeonggi (Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch)
- Store size: A large space spanning the 1st and 2nd floors, with full parking facilities
- Baby-friendly amenities: Baby chairs available, wide table spacing, and a clean environment optimized for dining with a baby

When we arrived by car, true to being a large restaurant using both the 1st and 2nd floors entirely, the parking lot was really spacious, which made getting the baby in and out of the car seat so much easier.

Once inside, the ceilings were high and the tables were spaced generously, so bringing a stroller or setting up a baby chair didn't feel awkward at all. Anyone who's parenting will relate — when a restaurant is cramped, you're anxious the baby might get hurt, but here the space was open and clean, so we could settle in comfortably. The staff also greeted our 18-month-old warmly, which put us in a good mood from the moment we walked in.

## Four dishes ordered on a weekday lunch, and the prices

On this day, while we tag-teamed caring for our 18-month-old, my husband and I enjoyed a hearty weekday lunch of four dishes — here's the honest rundown of price and character for each!

After settling the baby into the baby chair and slipping them a little snack, our main dishes were finally set on the table! Jjamppong Jijeon cooks everything to order, so from the visual alone you could sense the heat and crispiness.

### 1. Jijeon jjamppong, original flavor (₩13,000)

This is the signature Jijeon jjamppong my husband picked. Unlike the clear, seafood-only broth, this one's based on a meat broth loaded with meat, so the flavor was really rich and heavy. We ordered it in the original flavor, and it had just the right kick along with a deep savory note rising up — my husband, a jjamppong broth fanatic, kept marveling, "the depth of this broth is on another level."

### 2. Jjamjjamyeon with the jjamppong side changed to spice level 3 (₩14,000)

I wanted jjajangmyeon (black bean noodles) but also couldn't skip the spicy jjamppong, so I went with jjamjjamyeon (half-and-half noodles)! Since I wanted to blow off some stress, I bumped just the jjamppong side up to spice level 3. The moment I took a bite, a delicious, hot spiciness spread through my mouth and hit my tongue — it wasn't a forced kind of spicy, but a genuinely tasty spicy, and it really cleared my head. When it got too hot, I'd grab a bite of the sweet, savory Jijeon jjajangmyeon sitting right next to it, and the sweet-salty-spicy balance was perfect.

### 3. Sweet rice tangsuyuk (₩19,000)

This tangsuyuk came out with a pale, delicate batter that looked like it was fried in clean oil. The outside was crispy while the inside kept that distinctive chewiness of a sweet rice batter — a textbook example of crispy-outside, chewy-inside. The pork pieces inside were thick and had zero gamy smell, making it the perfect pairing alongside the spicy jjamppong.

### 4. Jjamppong fried dumplings, 8p (₩9,000)

Unlike regular fried dumplings, this special side has golden-fried dumpling wrappers stuffed with a spicy filling carrying a subtle jjamppong flavor. Biting in, you get that crisp sound along with juicy filling and spiciness bursting through your mouth, giving a crunch that's distinct from the tangsuyuk.

## A few parenting tips for visiting with an 18-month-old

- Check the baby chair setup: The restaurant is very spacious and open across the 1st and 2nd floors, making it easy to move around with a stroller, and there are plenty of baby chairs available for a comfortable meal.
- Spice level tip: If you like spicy food, both jjamjjamyeon and jjamppong let you choose a spice level from 1 to 4, so challenge yourself to your taste. (Level 3 has a Buldak-style heat!)
- Weekday lunch perk: Visiting on a weekday lunch means quieter parking and access to the 2nd floor space, making it much easier to dine at ease with a young baby.

## Final verdict

From the deep, rich meat-broth Jijeon jjamppong, to the level-3 spicy jjamjjamyeon that cleared away all our stress, to the pale, chewy sweet rice tangsuyuk and the crispy jjamppong fried dumplings — every single dish delivered at Jjamppong Jijeon Seooreung Branch, with nothing to skip!

Above all, since this was dining out with an 18-month-old, we were worried about cleanliness and seating space, but thanks to the wide, comfortable interior, both my husband and I finished our meal relaxed and full — satisfaction beyond what we expected.

If you're looking for a baby-friendly restaurant near Seooreung, or want to enjoy real deep-broth jjamppong and tangsuyuk with family or a partner in a spacious lot with plenty of parking, I recommend this place without hesitation!
