## In short

Suksudaega is an all-private-room Korean set-meal restaurant on Gangbyeon-ro in Anjung-eup, Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi. Visiting with a baby and her mother, the writer ordered the wang-galbi-jjim set (braised short rib set, 39,000 won on weekdays and 49,000 won on weekends), which ran from sweet pumpkin porridge through yukhoe (beef tartare), perilla leaf pancakes, royal japchae, Korean beef tteokgalbi, slow-cooked braised ribs and cauldron rice. The four-person room at Suksudaega is too tight for a stroller, so a baby chair is the easier choice, and it suits a quiet meal with parents.

## Suksudaega, a Korean set-meal restaurant in Anjung, Pyeongtaek, with a baby and mom

While searching for a good Korean set-meal spot in Pyeongtaek, I found Suksudaega 🥢 I went with my baby and my mom, and the atmosphere was great and every dish was neatly plated and delicious, so I'm recommending it as a Pyeongtaek Korean restaurant pick 🖤

Every space at Suksudaega is a private room, so it was great for a day when I wanted a quiet meal. We ordered the wang-galbi-jjim (braised rib) set, and it came with everything from pumpkin porridge to dongchimi (radish water kimchi), salad, yukhoe (beef tartare), pancakes, japchae, tteokgalbi, braised rib, and cauldron rice — it really felt like a proper feast. If you're looking for a Pyeongtaek restaurant good for bringing your parents, this could be it, and the clean atmosphere had my mom sold too 💕

## All private rooms: why a baby chair beats a stroller in the four-person room

What I liked most about Suksudaega was that every seat is a private room. It's not the typical open-hall Korean restaurant setup where you're seated close to the next table — you can eat comfortably as a family 🍀

Visiting with a baby like me, it was much more relaxing since I didn't have to worry about people around us. The 4-person room wasn't as spacious as I expected, so it looked tight to bring a stroller in, and instead I sat the baby in a baby chair. She usually hates baby chairs, but she stayed surprisingly calm, so I got to have a relaxed meal with my mom for once 💙

## How much is the braised short rib set, and what wines are there?

The wang-galbi-jjim set is ₩39,000 on weekdays and ₩49,000 on weekends, and there's a wide range of wines too, so apparently a lot of customers come from Hwaseong. Best wine spot in Hwaseong, best wine spot in Pyeongtaek = Suksudaega ✨

## The set starts with sweet pumpkin porridge and dongchimi

First to arrive were the wet towels along with the pumpkin porridge and cool dongchimi 💜 The porridge was soft and mildly sweet, easy on the stomach before a meal, and mild enough that I fed some to the baby, who ate it right up haha. The dongchimi had a clean taste, good to have as a palate refresher throughout the meal 〰️

![A plate of crisp mung bean sprout salad](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim-17-hxdl0-900.webp)

![Bite-sized yukhoe (beef tartare)](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim-18-12hv1-900.webp)

![A plate of fragrant sesame leaf pancake](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim-19-x8p1d-900.webp)

## Mung bean sprouts, yukhoe and perilla leaf pancakes arrive together

The mung bean sprout salad, yukhoe, and sesame leaf pancake came out too. The sprouts kept a crisp texture, mild enough to eat as a side. The yukhoe came in bite-sized pieces, clean to eat, and good quality too ❤️ The sesame leaf pancake had a fragrant sesame leaf aroma and a light, savory taste that my mom loved. The dishes weren't served in order but all at once, which was nice since we could compare and try everything haha.

![Royal japchae at Suksudaega](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim-20-7zja7-900.webp)

![A plate of tender Korean beef tteokgalbi](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim-21-1qlkk-900.webp)

## Royal japchae and Korean beef tteokgalbi: dishes the baby could share

The royal japchae (stir-fried glass noodles) and Korean beef tteokgalbi (grilled short rib patties) were delicious too 🤤 The japchae's ingredients blended well and was easy to eat without feeling heavy, and the tteokgalbi was soft enough that I gave the baby small bites! At restaurants with only adult menus it can be awkward to eat with a baby, but Suksudaega, a Pyeongtaek restaurant, had enough variety to pick and choose 👶🏻💕

![Generously sized slow-cooked braised rib](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim-22-1487s-900.webp)

## Slow-cooked braised short ribs and cauldron rice at Suksudaega

Last to arrive was the slow-cooked braised rib 🤎 True to a wang-galbi-jjim set, it came with generously sized ribs, mouthwatering just to look at. Maybe because of the slow-cooking method, the meat wasn't tough at all and was tender to eat, and the deep, rich braising sauce paired perfectly with rice. I pulled the meat off the bone into bite-sized pieces and ate it with the sauce — polished off a whole bowl of rice in no time... I'd genuinely want this whenever I have no appetite 🙂↕️

![Braised rib served with cauldron rice and side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim-23-kjrc8-900.webp)

![Glossy cauldron rice with doenjang soup](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim/pyeongtaek-anjung-baby-room-hanjeongsik-galbijjim-24-m5ly7-900.webp)

The braised rib came together with cauldron rice, side dishes, and doenjang soup (soybean paste soup), so I never got tired of eating right to the end 💙 The rice, freshly cooked in a cauldron, had fluffy grains with a nice sheen, delicious on its own, and just as good mixed with the braised rib sauce ☺️ With several side dishes on top, I finished a bowl of rice quickly, and wrapped up the last bite with the savory doenjang soup ~

## Is Suksudaega a good Pyeongtaek Korean restaurant for a meal with parents?

Visiting Suksudaega with my mom and baby was overall satisfying — the food lineup was substantial and we could eat comfortably in a private room 💕 Every space is a private room, so you can have a cozy meal, and if you're going with a baby, using a baby chair in the 4-person room is more comfortable — keep that in mind 😆 If you're looking for a Pyeongtaek restaurant to bring your parents to, or a Pyeongtaek Korean restaurant for a neat, proper meal, I recommend Suksudaega 👍🏻
