Today I'm bringing you a review of Baekok, which I visited inside Lotte Department Store Dongtan while doing some shopping.

I stop by here often to shop on weekends or weekdays, but lunchtime always leaves me stuck on what to eat.

I was craving something clean yet filling, so after searching around I picked Baekok, which is known as a recommended lunch spot in Dongtan.

## Where Baekok Dongtan is in the Lotte Department Store food court

Baekok Dongtan is located in the food court area on the basement floor of Lotte Department Store Dongtan. Since it's an open-style stall within the food court zone, it felt really open and airy.

Even amid the lively energy typical of a department store basement food court, the place was kept clean, making it a great lunch spot in Dongtan and completely comfortable for solo dining while shopping.

Since a lot of people come looking for good Dongtan lunch spots, it does get crowded during peak hours, but turnover is fast, so I didn't wait long before getting a seat.

Baekok's kkakdugi looked appetizing from its color alone. Crunchy and refreshingly savory, it paired perfectly with the rich broth — exactly the kind of thing that makes you finish a whole bowl.

The broth was generously filled with soft, thinly sliced pork. The meat wasn't dry at all — it was tender, and chewing it felt really smooth. Dipping it into the special sauce brought out the meat's natural savoriness even more.

Mixing rice into the hot broth and taking a big spoonful along with a chunk of meat warmed me up inside and left me feeling wonderfully full, haha^^

I could immediately understand why it's known as a famous gomtang spot in Dongtan the moment I took my first bite.

## The cabbage dumplings that come with the set

The pork gomtang set comes not just with the soup but also with neatly presented cabbage dumplings, which is great to order when you feel like a single dish alone won't be enough.

The cabbage dumplings were also seasoned just right and went really well with the gomtang. The savory flavor and the crunchy texture of the kimchi-dumpling filling boosted the overall satisfaction of the meal.

I thought there's nothing better than this kind of set when you get hungry while shopping at Lotte Department Store and want a hearty, easy-on-the-stomach meal.

Putting a piece of well-ripened kkakdugi right on top of the rice is honestly heavenly!! The combination of the clean gomtang broth and the spicy-sweet kimchi was so good that I ended up scraping the bowl clean down to the last drop.

Before I knew it, eating away like crazy, I had finished the whole bowl cleanly! My stomach felt full but not heavy at all, making for a satisfying lunch.
