Today we visited Pyeonbaek Hoegwan Siheung Janggok Branch, an all-you-can-eat shabu-shabu place in Siheung that's great for family outings ☺️

When I asked, "What should we eat today?", my first daughter said, "That thing! That thing! The one you dip in water and wrap!" hahahaha She meant spring rolls, so we went to Pyeonbaek Hoegwan! A restaurant where you can enjoy steamed dishes, shabu-shabu, and spring rolls all at once — three birds, one stone 💛🧡

They have displays of the various TV programs they've appeared on. The place is really, really spacious and clean. And the autumn-themed interior is totally my style! There are also tons of tables in the back, so it seems like a great spot for group gatherings or work dinners too~

## Where is the self-serve bar after the renovation?

Last time I visited, the self-serve bar was way over at one end in an L-shape, so the flow was a bit inconvenient. But since the owner changed and they renovated, now there are self-serve bars on both sides of the middle, near the entrance!

On one side, there are cooked dishes, rice paper, and hot water ready to go.

### Spring roll ingredients and shabu-shabu add-ins at the self-serve bar

Cabbage, sprouts, cheongyang chili peppers, onion, cucumber, carrot, corn, fruit cocktail. Plenty of ingredients to wrap up in a spring roll.

Fish cake, udon noodles, fried tofu, dumplings, bok choy, green onion, mushrooms, glass noodles, bean sprouts — all very fresh and varied, so you can just fill your plate however you like~

And get this!!!! Even the meat is all-you-can-eat!🥩

There's also bread and jam, salad, muk sabal (acorn jelly in cold broth), and broth prepared.

## How the kids' vegetable stamp event works

Every mom wants their kid to eat a variety of vegetables, right? The owner seems to know that too, and they're running an event where kids get a stamp after eating different vegetables! Once the card is full, you take it to the counter and the owner gives a gift 🎁 Looked like a helicopter toy you fling into the air, whoosh~

## From cypress-steamed pork to shabu-shabu

Now let's sit down and eat!!!!!! Napa cabbage, mushrooms, bok choy, shrimp, rice cake, meat!!!!!! So many things to eat, hoho

Our kids happily wrapped things up in rice paper and munched away. I think they alone ate five plates of fruit cocktail ^^ Once you finish the steamed dish, just ask and they'll bring you the shabu-shabu!

### The one letdown: choosing the broth

You can pick two out of mushroom broth, doenjang broth, spicy broth, or mala broth. Last time at another place, since the pot had a lot of spicy broth in it, it bubbled over into the other side and the kids found it too spicy — so this time I asked for just one non-spicy broth. But instead of one big pot, it came out in a divided pot. That part was a little disappointing ㅠㅠ

Peanut sauce, chili sauce, and ponzu sauce are all set out on the table, so you don't have to walk back and forth — love that! (I'm a sauce addict haha)

## The playroom and the thoughtful restroom setup

On one side, there's a small but handy playroom so parents can eat in peace — I really appreciate that~

There's even misugaru (roasted grain powder drink), so dessert is complete. A paradise for kids... they ate ice cream, slushies, and lots more🍦🍧

On our way out, I noticed at the counter that they're also giving away cypress wood cubes full of that woodsy scent for the reopening event~~~ The owner even gave us two! haha🩷
