While looking for somewhere good nearby on the way to IFC Mall, I found Hyeonseonine with a Super Membership discount—what?! It had been ages since I’d had Korean snacks, and it was sooo good,, ^0^

## Hyeonseonine Yongsan Main Branch near Sinyongsan Station

It’s at 2-13 Hangang-daero 39-gil, Yongsan-gu, Seoul, and is open daily from 11:00 to 24:00. It’s near Sinyongsan Station. I walked for about 10 minutes from Yongsan Station.

Hyeonseonine started as a pocha (street-food tent) in 2004 and now runs eight directly managed locations!! Wow, they’re doing so well,, jealous (?) Truly, you have to be exceptionally good at one thing..

It comes with tteokbokki (spicy rice cakes) + assorted fritters + mini gimbap (seaweed rice rolls) + sundae (Korean blood sausage) + three curly fish-cake skewers~~ You simply cannot resist the tteokbokki-gimbap-sundae trio with fritters + fish cakes;;;

## Don’t skip the fried-batter crumbs at the side bar

After ordering, I scampered over to the side bar for small plates, danmuji (pickled radish), and fried-batter crumbs ^__^ (Everyone, you absolutely have to grab these crumbs because they are the secret weapon,,)

After a short wait, our full Korean snack spread appeared—ta-da!

## Medium tteokbokki: sneakily spicy, but deliciously so

Shall we start with the tteokbokki? It had been so long since I ate it, and wow, it was delicious..? (I thought I didn’t like tteokbokki that much, but maybe not,, maybe I do like tteokbokki ^^..)

But I underestimated the medium level and chose it—it was sneakily spicy ㅜ Still, deliciously spicy~~ 🤤

But it’s okay. I had these fried-batter crumbs^*^..

Pile them on top of the tteokbokki like this, and they completely take the edge off the heat—the combination is amazing. I’m actually kind of weak with spice, so without these crumbs I probably would have been huffing and puffing through the tteokbokki;; Fried-batter crumbs are the best, seriously^^

And when you sip the fish-cake broth here and there, then eat the fish cake too—how delicious is that (?) The skewered fish cakes were chewy yet tender,, the best.

The sundae was insanely good too 🤤 Whew, but people from Busan dip it in ssamjang (seasoned soybean paste)^^.. Of course, I happily dipped mine in salt too. Or dunking it in tteokbokki sauce is insanely good as well;;

I think the fritters included gimmari, squid, vegetable, and yaki dumplings, and they were all so crispy! They were absolutely delicious dipped in the tteokbokki sauce too 🥺 Anyway, I had some delicious Korean snacks for the first time in ages. So satisfied~~ If you’re looking for a good place near Yongsan Station, stop by Hyeonseonine 🤤
