The interior is clean with spaced-out tables, perfect for a work dinner or group gathering in Euljiro after hours, and the lighting and mood make it great for a date course too. The texture is exactly like the name says, insane haha. Chewy yet bursting with juice with every bite, the kind of first taste that makes you clink soju glasses instantly!! But Jangchaekim really loves this dish haha, it's one of the reasons we came to Baegyeom Makchang!! It might be a love-it-or-hate-it thing, but it's a delicacy among delicacies!! Baegyeom Makchang is a place where you can eat real Daegu-style makchang, carefully salt-aged, right in the middle of Seoul's Euljiro!! Zero funky smell, crispy outside and moist-chewy inside ㅠ. It comes topped with squid jeotgal, and while the hot pot is still steaming, you mix it all up and take a bite!! That briny, umami-loaded jeotgal flavor soaks into every grain of rice, so one bite in and you're saying 'wow, imagine if we hadn't ordered this.' Pile the leftover meat and makchang on top and it's seriously the best... I scraped the pot clean down to the last spoonful haha. ## Big eater Jangchaekim's final verdict on Baegyeom Makchang I already love makchang a lot, but finding a clean Daegu-style makchang spot with no pork smell right in the middle of Euljiro was a total surprise haha. And makchang sundae!! That's hard to find ㅠㅠ. Being able to eat makchang and makchang sundae together in one sitting — how good is that >_< That nutty, savory flavor calls for soju the moment it hits your mouth!! Total bottomless eating haha. Euljiro is super crowded and popular these days, but among all the spots, this one — 'Baegyeom Makchang' — where you can eat real Daegu makchang, is a must-visit haha. > Drinking buddies, you have to go here!!
