## In short

Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong is a Japanese restaurant in Yangju, Gyeonggi, serving rice bowls and tonkatsu. Our family of three shared dontoro-don, spicy karai dontoro-don, and pork loin tonkatsu, and our 32-month-old ate comfortably too. Verdict: a satisfying weekend lunch option when dining out with a child.

For weekend lunch, the three of us went out to eat together for the first time in a while. We visited Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong while looking for somewhere to eat with our child in Okjeong, Yangju. When we eat out with our child, I tend to check first whether there is at least one thing they can eat rather than a place with only adult menus, and Choi Dining had pork loin tonkatsu as a side, so we ordered it without any pressure.

## Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong location and visitor information

## Lunch choices with our child

Since we came with our child this time, we added one pork loin tonkatsu. My husband and I ordered dontoro-don and karai dontoro-don respectively. It was nice that everyone could choose something to their taste, and our child ate the tonkatsu well, so we could enjoy the meal even more comfortably.

More than anything, it stayed with me as a place where the three of us could finish a meal happily without any particular inconvenience. Choosing a menu can be surprisingly tricky when eating out with a child on weekends, but dontoro-don for the adults and pork loin tonkatsu for the child made for a very satisfying lunch for our family.

## A neat interior with roomy table spacing

The restaurant was neat inside, and above all, there was quite a bit of space between the tables. Although it is a restaurant, it also looked like a nice place for a quiet solo meal or a simple meal as a couple.

If you join the review event, they give you a plate of steak, so try it as a side dish!

## How the spicy karai dontoro-don tasted

I chose the spicy karai dontoro-don. It is the same style of dontoro-don but a slightly different menu, with more spice than the regular version, so it would be a good choice if you usually enjoy spicy food.

As I ate, I could feel a slightly nose-tingling wasabi aroma, but it was not overly intense or difficult to eat. Rather, that sharp aroma seemed to awaken the palate in a rice bowl that could otherwise feel rich. Personally, I liked the karai dontoro-don a little better than the regular dontoro-don.

## Pork loin tonkatsu that was easy for our 32-month-old to eat

We ordered pork loin tonkatsu for our child. Since it was a side dish, the portion was not too large, which was actually nice. When eating out with a child, a separate main dish can sometimes be too much, but this suitably sized tonkatsu worked well for our child.

It was a side portion generous enough for our 32-month-old to eat alone. We cut the tonkatsu into child-friendly pieces, and thanks to that, the whole family could have weekend lunch comfortably. When dining out with a child, having one familiar item like tonkatsu really does put your mind at ease.

## Regular dontoro-don and seasoned seaweed rice for our child

My husband ordered the regular dontoro-don. It was a Japanese-style rice bowl with toppings over rice, good as a full meal, and its overall light flavor made it easy to finish neatly. I tend to like these Japanese-style rice bowls too, so I had a little taste, and the balance with the rice was good.

The seasoned seaweed rice was listed as a complimentary item because we came with our child. It was nice that there was no extra charge even though it was included, and it was easy to give to our child as a simple meal~

It felt like a dontoro-don rice bowl you would eat in Japan, so I enjoyed it so much for the first time in a while. From now on, when I am craving Japanese food, I will have to come to Choi Dining.

If you are looking for somewhere to eat out with your child on the weekend, enjoy a relaxed meal at Choi Dining Yangju Okjeong. Our family had a delicious lunch together for the first time in a while and finished the meal feeling happy :)
