I visited Ppyeodae Itneun Haejangguk while looking for somewhere to eat with my parents in Juchon, Gimhae, before heading to Costco. When you hear "haejangguk (hangover soup) restaurant," you usually think of pork bone haejangguk, but I liked that this place had a range of options — boneless haejangguk, sundae ugeoji haejangguk, and hwangtae haejangguk.

I especially liked that they had a boneless haejangguk option, and it was convenient that everyone in our group could order the soup they wanted. This time we ordered the haejangguk daegahansang set, which came with skate salad, garlic-boiled pork, and seasoned marinated crab too.

## How was the boneless haejangguk?

I tend to prefer boneless haejangguk over the bone-in version because it's easier to eat, so I ordered it again this time.

With no bones, the boneless haejangguk was easy to eat without having to pick the meat off separately. It was especially nice being able to eat right away without any bone-picking process while dining with my parents.

There was a good amount of meat and ugeoji (dried radish greens) in it too, so it never felt lacking — it made for a hearty, satisfying bowl. Scooping up the meat and ugeoji along with the broth, it worked well as a one-bowl meal.

## Sundae ugeoji haejangguk vs hwangtae haejangguk

My parents ordered sundae ugeoji haejangguk and hwangtae haejangguk respectively.

## Garlic-boiled pork, skate salad and seasoned marinated crab

I also tried the garlic-boiled pork included in the daegahansang set. It was topped generously with garlic, and overall it reminded me of naengchae jokbal (cold seasoned pig's feet). Eating the meat with the garlic added more aroma and texture than eating it plain.

When eating out, I tend to pay attention not just to the food but also to how well the self-serve bar and shared spaces are maintained, and this was fine.

What I liked about visiting with my parents this time was the wide range of menu choices. I had the boneless haejangguk, my parents had the sundae ugeoji haejangguk and hwangtae haejangguk — nobody had to eat the same thing, so we could each reflect our own preferences.
