I've been craving really good meat lately, so I visited Jeju Doldam Sangnam Main Branch in Sangnam-dong, Changwon 🤍 There are so many samgyeopsal (grilled pork belly) spots around Sangnam-dong, but Jeju Doldam caught my eye the moment I walked in — the vibe was so strongly Jeju island that I couldn't look away!!

There's a display of meat right by the entrance, and just looking at it... the quality seemed pretty serious.

## What does the inside of Jeju Doldam look like?

Inside Jeju Doldam Sangnam Main Branch there are dol hareubang (Jeju stone grandfather statues) and other Jeju-reminiscent props scattered around, giving it a different feel from a typical BBQ restaurant! It felt like I'd actually come to Jeju island ⭐️

Overall the lighting was soft and cozy. It's a BBQ restaurant but not too bright or chaotic — I'd definitely recommend it for chatting with friends over a meal or for a work dinner! 😃

## Ordering the Jeju black pork set with Chapagetti

That day at Jeju Doldam I ordered the Jeju black pork set (oegyeopsal + moksal) and jjapaguri (blend of jjajangmyeon and ramyeon). I used to think that at a BBQ place all that mattered was good meat, but here it felt like they'd put real thought into the side dishes and accompaniments too 👍

The basic side dishes were pink sausage, macaroni salad, hairtail jeotgal, myeongi namul, kimchi jjigae, and more. On top of that, wraps and a variety of sauces too...!!!!

The owner told me that kimchi is fried in pork fat and said to eat it with confidence, so I did — and I nearly cried it was so good... ㅠㅠㅠ 👍 I also recommend piling the meat with plenty of hairtail jeotgal!!!!!!!!!! The owner's got a real sense for this ..!

The complimentary kimchi jjigae didn't feel like a throwaway freebie at all,,! It had black pork, tofu, kimchi, and other ingredients packed in generously! ...⭐️⭐️Nothing felt thrown together, everything looked made with care⭐️⭐️

The thick-cut meat sizzled on the grill, and with the smell of it cooking on top, my appetite basically exploded ㅋㅋㅋㅠㅠㅠㅠ

The meat itself had real thickness to it, so each bite delivered a satisfying chew.

When the owner said it was ready to eat, I took a bite of the golden-brown black pork... the juices were moist and a savory flavor rushed up, and I got why people go out of their way for black pork 🥩 Eating it with the accompaniments gave it a whole different feel too! Especially with all the different combos you can try while eating the meat, it's the kind of taste where you keep going for one more bite… ㅋㅋㅋ

## Is Chapagetti a good side at a Korean BBQ restaurant?

Honestly I didn't expect much from jjapaguri at a BBQ place, but it went surprisingly well ㅋㅋㅋ Eating the thick, chewy jjapaguri along with the meat perfectly targets that moment right after eating meat when you start craving carbs 😂

On top of that, the jjapaguri itself was loaded with onion, cucumber, and black pork, which I loved🫶 You could tell they weren't skimping on ingredients haha. Jjapaguri is the perfect side to order when just eating meat at a BBQ place feels like it's not quite enough.

Above all, having a staff member grill the meat for us so well was so comfortable and nice.... The outside got a nice golden brown while the inside stayed moist... 🌀🌀 Thanks to that, I got to eat comfortably and deliciously ><

This visit to Jeju Doldam Sangnam branch felt less like just eating meat and more like a place where the Jeju-style atmosphere, black pork, and friendly service all came together well! Having staff grill the meat made things especially easy, and the meat quality was great, so it seems like a good spot to visit whenever you want to properly enjoy black pork!!!😍

It's also a good option when looking for a work dinner or gathering spot in Sangnam-dong, and it had just the right atmosphere for having a few drinks with friends over good meat.
