I met up with a friend of 20 years after a long time and we had dinner at Timevillas Suwon, just behind Suwon Station's exit 3. We were too sad to part ways, so we went looking for a nearby café and that's how I found this place!!! I hadn't had a single cup of coffee that day, so since I was finally drinking one, I wanted to do it properly. ## Where is Tteum Café by Oneplay Suwon Station, and what are its hours? There were models of finansiers, madeleines, and croffles, and they looked so cute and delicious that I decided on the croffle as my main dessert. (No matter how full I am from dinner, there's always room for dessert.) My friend and I ordered the Lotus ice cream croffle, Seoul blend Americano, apple yuzu tea, and salted caramel finansier. ## Seating and the table QR menu at Tteum Café The tables at Tteum Café by Oneplay Suwon Station are mostly 4-person tables, with some 2-person tables too. (There were actually people working on laptops.) We'd already ordered, but next time I could see checking the menu on the QR code from the seat first. ## Seoul blend Americano: hand-drip coffee poured into a wine glass Tteum Café by Oneplay's Americanos are divided by blend, and I ordered the Seoul blend Americano, iced. The café is connected to a furniture shop, so before our order came out we went over and browsed for a bit. There were also plenty of coffee cups and dishes, and even the cups themselves felt carefully chosen. It didn't feel like a place that just sells coffee, but one that sells the experience of drinking it. (I liked that they seemed genuinely serious about coffee!) When ordering, the Americanos were also divided by blend—the Milano blend is described as nutty with a heavier body, and the Kyoto blend as bright and acidic. I went with the Seoul blend Americano, iced. The menu said it's roasted by a roaster who placed 2nd at a world competition, with a bright acidity in the aroma and a smoothness that carries through in the taste—I was so looking forward to it!!! The coffee comes with ice on the side, and the hand-drip Americano is poured into a wine glass yourself. It felt unfamiliar at first, but being able to portion it out exactly meant it never got watery to the last sip. Even as a hand drip, the price wasn't intimidating, which made me think I'd want to come back. The Seoul blend I ordered had that acidity and nuttiness together, just as described. The balance was on point, and I could feel the difference in body compared to franchise coffee. I think even people who don't know much about coffee would notice the difference. It was honestly my favorite coffee I've had so far❣️ ## Lotus ice cream croffle, with the syrup served on the side The Lotus ice cream croffle!!! You can pour as much as you like to control the sweetness. The croffle itself had a strong butter flavor with a chewy interior, so eating it together with the ice cream really brought out the flavor. The ice cream was fist-sized, so there was more than enough to pair with the croffle all the way to the last piece. ## Why to order the salted caramel financier with the croffle Tteum Café by Oneplay's salted caramel finansier is more moist than crisp, and if you order it alongside the Lotus ice cream croffle to share, the salty-sweet balance is spot on. Cutting into it, it turned out to be more moist than crisp. The surface had a slight sheen, but it collapsed softly when bitten. The salt sprinkled on top cut through the sweetness, making it great to alternate with the croffle. (Highly recommend the salty-sweet combo.) I also tried dipping the finansier into the ice cream that had melted from the croffle, and this combination was surprisingly delicious!!! Adding vanilla ice cream to the salty finansier hit that salty-sweet balance perfectly. I'd recommend ordering the Lotus ice cream croffle and salted caramel finansier together to share. ## Is Tteum Café worth it for dessert after dinner near Suwon Station? The croffle, finansier, and coffee were all satisfying together! The croffle came with a generous scoop of ice cream, and having the syrup served separately made it easy to control the sweetness. The coffee's Seoul blend had a clear body that felt different from franchise coffee. And it was an easy, short distance to walk for dessert after dinner at Timevillas. - Last order is at 7:20pm, so check the time if you're heading there after dinner - Parking gets 1 hour supported, worth keeping in mind - Recommend the croffle + finansier combo for a salty-sweet pairing I'm planning to go back again for coffee and a slice of cake.
