I finally visited a solo-dining gukbap spot I'd been eyeing in Seomyeon. It's a gukbap (pork bone soup with rice) restaurant with really good value for money, and since it's mostly single-person seating, it's super comfortable to eat alone (there really were a lot of solo diners!). It's on Jeonpo Café Street too, so it's easy to find, and beyond solo dining you can also do a light solo drink here 😉 I went in the evening—

This Seomyeon gukbap spot, Sanbandeul Pork Gukbap, Seomyeon Jeonpo Café Street Main Branch, has a small interior with real atmosphere. There's 1 table for 4, 2 tables for 2, and plenty of single-person bar tables. It's mostly bar-table seating, so the whole vibe is comfortable for eating alone! And indeed, when I visited, there were a lot of other solo diners too.

## Sanbandeul menu and how the sets are put together

Here's the menu at Sanbandeul Pork Gukbap, Seomyeon Jeonpo Café Street Main Branch, my recommended solo gukbap spot in Seomyeon. It's mostly gukbap dishes and sets, plus a seasonal milmyeon (cold buckwheat noodles) was on offer! They also serve alcohol and were running a review event, so definitely check that out 😊

Since I came alone, I sat at a bar table! The plating was neater than I expected, which I really liked haha

I ordered a pretty generous spread. Even with all that, the value was insane. Especially the basic gukbap + suyuk (small) set at 9,900 won — that's really unbeatable value! I switched to spicy for 10,900 won, and even the basic set is fantastic.

## Cream draft beer, for when a proper bar feels like too much

Cream draft beer. A great draft beer for a quick sip while eating. Being a cream draft, it's smoother and cleaner-tasting. If going to a full-on bar feels like too much of a production but you still want a drink, come to Sanbandeul, my go-to solo gukbap spot in Seomyeon~!

Wow, seriously,, this is peak hearty gukbap texture,, piping hot soup with rice soaked through with the spicy broth, and every spoonful brought up a ton of toppings. I also liked that you can choose spice level from 1 to 3.

The charcoal-grilled suyuk (boiled pork) that came with the set. Even in the small size, the portion was generous. Highly recommend it as a side with your gukbap.

## Solo drinking sides: wang-gyoza (2 pieces) and homemade fried chicken (small)

Wang-gyoza (large dumplings), 2pcs. This solo gukbap spot in Seomyeon has a variety of sides. The wang-gyoza comes as just 2 pieces at a low price, so it's a great side to order lightly. The frying was crispy and the filling was packed in tight, so I recommend it as a side.

Homemade fried chicken (small). A small size, but the portion was really generous. It comes with mayo sauce too, which makes it even tastier.

The homemade fried chicken was crispy outside but tender inside, which made it delicious. This is a side I'd definitely recommend for anyone drinking solo.

## Is Sanbandeul worth it for a solo dinner in Seomyeon?

That was my full-spread visit to Sanbandeul, my solo gukbap spot of choice in Seomyeon 😊 The small-scale interior had great atmosphere, from the great-value gukbap to sides perfect for a solo drink! A place I'll definitely visit again — Sanbandeul Pork Gukbap, my go-to Seomyeon gukbap spot, definitely give it a try~~~ 💖
