I've been really into brunch lately, so I'm on a tour of Busan's best brunch cafés~ 'Famous Benny' kept coming up as an Australian-style brunch + specialty coffee spot, so I was curious and finally went haha. Turns out there's a reason it keeps getting mentioned — the coffee and brunch were both amazing.

Famous Benny in Gwangalli, Busan was selected for the 2026 Blue Ribbon Survey, and you can enjoy delicious brunch plus specialty coffee together. Honestly, since I blog under my own name, if a café I visit isn't great I either just post plain info or skip writing about it altogether. But luckily, both the brunch and coffee were delicious, so I can recommend this one comfortably hahahaha.

## What we ordered at Famous Benny and what else is on the menu

On the 1st floor of Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch there's a counter, restroom, and tables, while the 2nd floor has a spacious area with lots of tables. I ordered French toast for ₩17,000 and an iced latte for ₩6,000 (※ decaf +₩1,000).

Coffee, tea, juice, specialty matcha, non-coffee drinks, ades, gelato, smoothies, brunch, soups... the menu was so~ varied that I agonized over what to order haha.

True to its identity as a specialty coffee café in Gwangalli, Busan, Famous Benny had quite a lot of coffee beans on display. If you're someone who cares about beans, you look at aroma, flavor, acidity/sweetness, body, aftertaste, and overall balance, right? This café is especially recommended for those people.

There are quite a few people who tour 'specialty coffee cafés' around Busan. I hear some people even travel to Busan specifically to do a café tour~

## Laptop work at a 2nd-floor outlet seat in Famous Benny

I sat at a seat with an outlet on the 2nd floor of Famous Benny haha. I wanted to work on my laptop while enjoying good brunch and coffee. The wifi was fast, which made it comfortable. If you're looking for a good café to work on your laptop in Gwangalli, Busan, I recommend 'Famous Benny.'

Oh, and on the 1st floor there were customers with their dogs, and the staff took great care of them~ Since it's a dog-friendly café in Gwangalli, Busan, it was nice getting to see cute dogs too.

## What a weekday 2pm is like, and coming with kids

Visiting Famous Benny Gwangalli Branch on a weekday at 2pm, I liked that the café was spacious and the overall vibe was quiet : ) I only managed to take photos when customers were leaving, but customers kept steadily coming in. Still, the atmosphere was hushed and conversational, so it wasn't loud at all and felt comfortable.

With baby chairs, wide tables, and comfortable seats, I also thought this would be a great Gwangalli, Busan café to visit with a baby.

## The 1st-floor restroom at Famous Benny

There's a restroom on the 1st floor of Famous Benny, and it was kept impressively clean. The toilet's water pressure felt a bit weak, but there was no odor, the toilet was spotless, and the sink water pressure was fine, so it was a comfortable experience overall. I tend to care quite a bit about restroom hygiene wherever I go hahahaha.

## French toast at ₩17,000 and the decaf iced latte: how they tasted

French toast is ₩17,000, and iced latte is ₩6,000 (※ decaf +₩1,000). Ta-da~~~ isn't the visual just great? The French toast is fairly pricey, so I flinched at first, but once I actually saw the brunch, it made sense hahahahaha.

Whether it was the owner or a staff member, I'm not sure, but I asked for a brunch recommendation and they suggested the French toast.

First of all, I can't have caffeine, so I was glad they had decaf. When I ordered the latte, they also gave me a coffee info card along with it. It was a card introducing the specialty bean info and tasting notes — origin, variety, altitude, harvest time, growing region, producer, flavor and characteristics were all listed in detail. And the coffee was genuinely delicious haha. It suited my coffee-newbie palate perfectly.

I understood right away why they recommended the French toast. Not sure if it was blueberry, but there was a berry compote sauce drizzled on top, along with pretty edible flowers, and the toast came generously loaded with bacon, banana, and mixed seed toppings — a hearty, well-composed brunch. It was really, really delicious, the texture was great, and I ate it very satisfyingly haha.

## Getting to Famous Benny: the bus is easiest

For anyone heading to 'Famous Benny,' I recommend taking the bus rather than driving or the subway. The Minnak-dong bus depot (the starting point of the bus route) is just a 1-minute walk away, so it's great for catching a bus.

It's also close to major sights like Gwangalli Beach, Millak the Market, and Minrak Fish Market, so it's easy to walk between them — if you're deciding on a café in Gwangalli, Busan, definitely give 'Famous Benny' a try!
