The very first bite made it too good to keep to just the two of us, so I immediately called in a sibling who was nearby to order another round..! Thinking they'd pair really well with soju, we picked perilla oil cucumber muchim and grilled seasoned cod cheeks as extras! The cucumber muchim isn't knife-cut — the cucumbers are smashed and cracked, then tossed with nutty perilla oil and a special sauce. Plump, chewy cod cheeks grilled with a spicy-sweet marinade, with just the right amount of heat and savory kick that cleansed the palate completely. Genuinely the best pairing for soju. Teppan King turned out to be a Seomyeon Station steak-and-teppan spot where you could feel the owner's deep skill in every single side dish, not just the steaks and grilled teppan mains. ## Is Teppan King worth a visit in Seomyeon? Hidden deep in a Seomyeon alley, Teppan King was the kind of bar I really want to make my regular hangout. - Live teppan cooking that's a feast for both eyes and mouth! - A yakisoba & okonomiyaki Set A so perfect it made me call in reinforcements! - The refreshing clean finish of the perilla oil cucumber muchim! - Grilled seasoned cod cheeks with just enough spice to call for another soju! Atmosphere, taste, hospitality — nothing was lacking, so I'm already planning to come back soon for more teppanyaki and a highball.
