These days I'm eating a lot of delicious things and enjoying a happy newlywed life haha~~! Since I love bread, I took advantage of a relaxed weekday to visit Boulangerie Tan in Dongpae-dong, a famous bakery in Unjeong, Paju. There's parking in the building, and it's already known as a great brunch spot, so I walked in with high expectations.

## What bread is on the shelves, from cream desserts to ciabatta

In Boulangerie Tan's dessert fridge there were desserts filled with cream. Starting with cream salt bread, there were cakes and all kinds of pies too. Every single one looked gorgeous and delicious 😝

Boulangerie Tan uses its own directly cultivated natural levain, fermenting slowly at low temperature for over 14 hours to make slow, healthy bread~ Plus they insist on organic, French flour only, so the ingredients alone show a different level of quality! They also don't use artificial additives like measuring agents, emulsifiers, coloring, or preservatives. Even if it takes time, this is a bakery that bakes properly, honest bread — so I thought of it as a bakery that thinks about health too 🍞🥐🥖

They also sold jams and oils to eat with the bread. From baked financiers to salt breads, there were so many kinds it was great for picking whatever suited your taste.

There was sliced bread too, and baguettes — but there was exactly 1 baguette left~ They also sell fresh cream separately, and I bet drizzling that over a baguette would be jmt (crazy delicious) 💓

There were croissants and other breads you can enjoy crispy and layered.

They also sell coffee to go with the bread, plus iced tea, lattes, and ades, so it'd be great to buy together! Looked like there were quite a lot of delivery orders too~

### Carrot rapée sandwich

The carrot rapée sandwich I had for lunch was a bread where the sharpness of arugula, the sweetness of carrot rapée, and the savoriness of cheese all blended together nicely. It was hearty and delicious enough for a full meal~ Since the bread itself is basically delicious, the fillings inside felt like they harmonized well too.

### Chewy rice cake salt bread

Next I tried the chewy rice cake salt bread. Just like the name says, there's actual rice cake inside! It was chewy with great texture, and you could even taste sweet red bean inside — a flavor that would win over even older folks' tastes 😋

### Olive cheese ciabatta

Lastly, ciabatta — my favorite type of bread these days! Packed with olives and cheese, it was savory and salty and delicious.

## Storing leftover bread, and cream salt bread for after-dinner dessert

Boulangerie Tan recommends eating their breads the same day whenever possible, but if you have leftovers, they said you can freeze them and reheat in an air fryer! They even gave us a guide on how to enjoy the bread, which was helpful to have on hand~😉

And that evening, my husband and I shared cream salt bread for dessert. Boulangerie Tan really nails the cream too. The outside is crispy and salty while the inside is filled with sweet cream — genuinely delicious. Definitely will visit again — this is Boulangerie Tan, a must-visit bakery in Unjeong, Paju 💯
