## What kind of place is Dolpanseok Jjamppong Paju Simhaksan Branch?

There are a lot of restaurants and cafés around Simhaksan in Paju. It's also a spot where many people go hunting for good food. I heard a new place serving delicious stone-plate jjajang and stone-plate jjamppong had recently opened near Simhaksan, so I went to check it out. This place is 'Dolpanseok Jjamppong Paju Simhaksan Branch.'

Dolpanseok Jjamppong Paju Simhaksan Branch is close to both Paju Book City and Paju Lotte Outlet, so it's in a good location to visit before or after a shopping trip. It's nice that there's a wide menu choice with both stone-plate jjamppong and stone-plate jjajang. There are usually a lot of places specializing in stone-plate jjajang alone, so having stone-plate jjamppong too made this place even more intriguing, haha.

## How kiosk ordering works and what to pick from the menu

You order using the kiosk at the table. There's also guidance on how to enjoy the stone-plate jjamppong and jjajang even more deliciously. There's even scorched rice (nurungji) — that got me even more excited! Besides stone-plate jjajang and jjamppong, there are various side dishes like tungbosha, donchitang, fried dumplings, and mapo tofu, so it's great for sharing. If you go with a group, ordering a variety of dishes seems like a good idea.

There are also plenty of tables, so group dinners are possible too. And since parking is available around the restaurant, there's no need to worry about parking at Dolpanseok Jjamppong Paju Simhaksan Branch. Parking really matters at restaurants and cafés around Simhaksan.

## Receipt review ade and unlimited rice refills

If you leave a Naver receipt review, you get a free handmade fruit ade. Getting to choose between plum and grapefruit ade as a free perk — that's the kind of event you really shouldn't miss.

## Stone-plate jjamppong at basic spice level, donchitang and handmade gyoza

I'd been to stone-plate jjajang places before, so I was curious whether the jjajang here had its own distinct charm, but I rarely get the chance to have stone-plate jjamppong, so I ordered that instead. You can also choose the spice level. I went with the mildest, but afterward I thought I should have gone for level 2. If you like spicy food, I'd recommend bumping up the level.

Donchitang and handmade gyoza dumplings showed up too. The visuals alone are overwhelming, haha. The donchitang comes with sweet and sour sauce, and the dumplings come with soy sauce.

It's also nice that you can have dakgangjeong (Korean fried chicken) and sweet and sour pork together. Anyone who loves fried food will love this menu. There's tungbosha too, so you can pick according to your taste. Set menus are also available at a discounted price, so keep that in mind.

Maybe because they're handmade, the gyoza tasted even better. The dumplings themselves were already seasoned enough to enjoy on their own.

![Small-size stone-plate jjamppong with seafood](https://img.superchart.com/images/paju-simhaksan-dol-jjamppong-newly-opened/paju-simhaksan-dol-jjamppong-newly-opened-17-13ozt-966.webp)

![Stone-plate jjamppong mixed with bean sprouts](https://img.superchart.com/images/paju-simhaksan-dol-jjamppong-newly-opened/paju-simhaksan-dol-jjamppong-newly-opened-18-yw0oj-966.webp)

### Is the small stone-plate jjamppong enough food?

I ordered the small-size jjamppong, but the portion was still on the larger side. It had seafood in it too, like shrimp and squid. Mixing it with the bean sprouts makes it even more delicious! I'd recommend scraping up the scorched rice at the very end.

![Scorched rice left at the bottom of the stone plate](https://img.superchart.com/images/paju-simhaksan-dol-jjamppong-newly-opened/paju-simhaksan-dol-jjamppong-newly-opened-19-1yqv9-966.webp)

![Table with stone-plate jjamppong and donchitang](https://img.superchart.com/images/paju-simhaksan-dol-jjamppong-newly-opened/paju-simhaksan-dol-jjamppong-newly-opened-20-13se5-966.webp)

![Sign for the stone-plate jjajang with chili pesto](https://img.superchart.com/images/paju-simhaksan-dol-jjamppong-newly-opened/paju-simhaksan-dol-jjamppong-newly-opened-21-i0y0o-966.webp)

Now I'm curious about Dolpanseok's stone-plate jjajang too. Chili pesto... that sounds like it could be a whole new flavor unique to Dolpanseok. There are so many menu items I like here that it's hard to decide what to choose, haha.

Finally, eating it together with the scorched rice makes for an even more filling meal. And if that's not enough, there's rice at the self-bar you can grab.

## Free dessert: rice crackers and yogurt

Rice crackers and yogurt are also offered as complimentary dessert. Dolpanseok Jjamppong Paju Simhaksan Branch really goes above and beyond for its customers. I think this place is only going to become more of a go-to spot near Simhaksan.
