## In short

Jinsim Wang Donkkasu Hwasun branch is a pork cutlet (donkkasu) restaurant on Ssangchung-ro in downtown Hwasun. After a walk at Seryangji Reservoir, the writer stopped by with her husband and 16-month-old baby for the cheese-waterfall pork cutlet and the jjolmyeon pork cutlet, plus lettuce wraps and unlimited soup from the salad bar. With three baby chairs, kids' tableware, and 2 hours of free parking, it was an easy pick for a family meal in Hwasun.

My husband, our 16-month-old baby and I went on a drive to Hwasun over the weekend. After a walk at Seryangji Reservoir we got hungry, and while looking for somewhere to eat dinner in downtown Hwasun, we ended up at Jinsim Wang Donkkasu (진심왕돈까스) Hwasun branch!

![Exterior of Jinsim Wang Donkkasu Hwasun branch in downtown Hwasun](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-02-kks69-966.webp)

Jinsim Wang Donkkasu is actually a chain with several branches, so I went in with a rough idea of what to expect. But after visiting the Hwasun branch this time, it left a bigger impression than I thought it would.

It wasn't just that the pork cutlet (donkkasu) was tasty — the atmosphere of the Hwasun branch specifically, and the sincerity of whoever runs it, really stood out to me.👍👍👍👍

## Was parking convenient? Easy to find in downtown Hwasun

Parking quietly matters a lot when eating out with a kid, and Jinsim Wang Donkkasu Hwasun made it easy. There's a building parking lot, plus street parking nearby, so parking wasn't a hassle for us at all.

![Building parking lot at Jinsim Wang Donkkasu Hwasun branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-04-hu73x-966.webp)

![Parking space near the building](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-05-b0qvw-966.webp)

🅿️ The building parking lot gives you 2 hours free, and since it's right in downtown Hwasun, it's a convenient stop if you're already out driving around Hwasun. That day we went Seryangji Reservoir → Jinsim Wang Donkkasu → Hwasun Local Food direct sales store, and the route worked out well. There's also a Twosome Place right next door to Jinsim Wang Donkkasu, so you could even grab dessert in the same building!

## The size and seating — much bigger than I expected

We came during weekend lunch hours and luckily got seated right away without waiting.

That said, the restaurant does keep a waitlist sign-up sheet, so it seems to get pretty busy at lunchtime. And out of the Jinsim Wang Donkkasu branches I've visited so far, this Hwasun one felt like the biggest.

![Spacious dining hall inside Jinsim Wang Donkkasu Hwasun branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-06-3t0hf-966.webp)

The tables are spaced generously, and when we visited there were a lot of families with kids there too.

They had as many as three baby chairs, plus separate kids' tableware, which made eating out with our baby a lot easier.

![A table good for eating solo](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-08-10hey-966.webp)

It also seemed like a great spot to eat solo, honestly!

## What stuck with me as much as the food — the atmosphere

![Atmosphere inside Jinsim Wang Donkkasu Hwasun branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-09-1qan7-966.webp)

There was one thing about this Hwasun branch visit that personally stuck with me the most. I could feel the affection and confidence the owner has for the place, just from how it's run.

![Chalkboard notes handwritten by the owner](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-10-15h8t-966.webp)

From the notes handwritten on a big chalkboard, to how neatly every corner of the restaurant was kept, to the energy of the staff greeting customers — it went beyond just 'the place is clean' and made me feel like they genuinely care about running this restaurant! Since it's a chain, I had a rough idea what the food would taste like, but the Hwasun branch left a different impression from other branches because of this. Since we were eating with our baby, the attention to hygiene and cleanliness meant even more to me.

## Pork cutlet menu — pick whatever suits your taste

![Menu board at Jinsim Wang Donkkasu Hwasun branch](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-11-4gc98-966.webp)

One reason I like Jinsim Wang Donkkasu is that you can choose from a variety of pork cutlet dishes to suit your taste, and on top of that, the value for money is great — plus you can pick a side dish along with your cutlet, which I really love!!

### If you love cheese: the cheese-waterfall pork cutlet

![Full table setting with cheese-waterfall pork cutlet](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-12-7704i-966.webp)

![Plate of cheese-waterfall pork cutlet](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-13-r5dwy-966.webp)

What we ordered was the cheese-waterfall pork cutlet and the Jinsim jjolmyeon (spicy chewy noodle) pork cutlet. Cheese-waterfall pork cutlet ₩16,900, Jinsim jjolmyeon pork cutlet ₩14,900.

First up, the cheese-waterfall pork cutlet, whose name alone caught my eye. This one really lived up to its name.

Every time you cut into the cutlet, cheese comes pouring out from inside — and not just a little bit, but a genuinely generous amount.

![Cheese-waterfall pork cutlet with cheese pouring out when cut](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-14-tghcv-966.webp)

Especially when you cut off a piece with the cheese stretching along with it and eat it in one bite, the cutlet and cheese fill your mouth all at once. If you love cheese, this menu will probably satisfy you a lot. I got my full cheese fix that day, haha.

### If you love jjolmyeon, go for the Jinsim jjolmyeon pork cutlet

![Jinsim jjolmyeon pork cutlet with a generous noodle portion](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-15-k8gtq-966.webp)

Then there was the Jinsim jjolmyeon pork cutlet we also ordered. The portion of jjolmyeon (chewy cold noodles) was way more than I expected.

I figured it'd be a small side of jjolmyeon next to the cutlet, but the noodles came out generous enough to be a main dish on their own — plenty for two people to share. And both dishes came with a mountain of cabbage salad. I personally love cabbage salad, so that part made me happy.

## The best way to eat it — wrapped in lettuce

![Salad bar with lettuce and ssamjang](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-16-1xtqy-966.webp)

![Self-serve salad bar setup](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-17-vdtvf-966.webp)

![Side dishes and sauces on the salad bar](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-18-1qh2n-966.webp)

Jinsim Wang Donkkasu has a salad bar, with lettuce and ssamjang (seasoned dipping sauce) ready to go.

![Lettuce wrap with pork cutlet, chili, and ssamjang](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-19-16knj-966.webp)

Personally I really liked this combo — you put the cutlet on a lettuce leaf, add a little chili, then top it with ssamjang.

It's a lot less greasy than eating the cutlet plain, and you just keep reaching for more. I ate a good amount of the cutlet this way that day, haha.

![Unlimited soup available to guests](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-20-1mb5w-966.webp)

![A bowl of soup](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-21-rhso3-966.webp)

And the soup is unlimited too. I love soup, so this kind of all-you-can-eat setup was great for me. A bowl of soup before the cutlets arrived, another in the middle, and one more at the end. If you love soup, you can really eat as much as you want.

## Good to eat with a 16-month-old baby too

![Family table set up with a baby chair](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-22-10tj9-966.webp)

This time we came with our 16-month-old baby, and it worked out fine as a family dining spot. There were three baby chairs ready, and separate kids' tableware too.

Best of all, I peeled off a bit of the breading and gave some cutlet to the baby to try, and she ate it a lot better than I expected.

![Cross-section of pork cutlet made with Korean pork](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-23-1jtvz-966.webp)

Knowing the cutlets are made with Korean pork (hanwoo pork, hanton) also gave me a bit more peace of mind feeding it to my baby!!

In fact, when we visited, there were a lot of other families eating with kids too, so I think it's a comfortable pick for anyone looking for somewhere to eat out with a child in Hwasun!!

## A good stop after a drive to Seryangji Reservoir

Our Hwasun outing this time went: walk at Seryangji Reservoir → Jinsim Wang Donkkasu Hwasun → Hwasun Local Food direct sales store. A light walk at Seryangji, pork cutlet for dinner, then a stop at the local food store right across the way — it made for a pretty solid Hwasun drive route.

![Hwasun Local Food direct sales store visited after the meal](https://img.superchart.com/images/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal/hwasun-jinsim-wang-donkatsu-family-meal-24-13vwb-m-966.webp)

Being able to go grocery shopping right after the meal made the route especially convenient. If you're heading out to Hwasun for a drive, I'd recommend pairing one good restaurant with nearby sights rather than just stopping for the one meal and heading back.

## What stayed with me after eating there

To sum up what we tried this time:

- Cheese-waterfall pork cutlet loaded with cheese
- Jinsim jjolmyeon pork cutlet with a generous noodle portion
- Cabbage salad piled up like a mountain
- The fun of eating lettuce + chili + cutlet wraps
- Salad bar and unlimited soup
- Pork cutlets made with Korean pork
- A family-dining setup with baby chairs and kids' tableware

These are the things that stuck with me. More than just being 'a place with good pork cutlet,' what I liked most about this visit was the sense that they were thinking of the customer in everything, from the food to how the place is kept.

Since it's a chain, I expected the taste to be roughly the same as other branches, but the owner's evident love for the place plus the staff's upbeat mood made the Hwasun branch especially memorable! If you're looking for a good pork cutlet spot in downtown Hwasun, or somewhere comfortable to eat with a kid, give Jinsim Wang Donkkasu Hwasun a try. I'd also recommend the route we did — a drive to Seryangji, lunch, then the local food store afterward. :)
