If I track down a supposedly great restaurant only to circle the neighborhood several times looking for a space, I am exhausted before I even eat. Eonyang Dak Kalguksu has parking spaces out front, so I was able to park fairly easily when I visited. What I personally remember most was the soft sound of gayageum, a traditional Korean zither, playing inside the restaurant. But it also had that strangely addictive flavor that keeps calling your chopsticks back, haha. If you do not handle spicy food well, I recommend having it little by little. On the other hand, if you usually enjoy spicy kimchi or Silbi kimchi, I think you will really like alternating a bite of chicken kalguksu with a bite of Silbi kimchi. A review I saw also described it as house-made Silbi kimchi, saying that its clean, spicy flavor went well with the chicken kalguksu. ## Warm chicken kalguksu, with seasoning adjustment available At last, the chicken kalguksu I had been waiting for arrived. With one bite, I was amazed at how wonderfully chewy the wrappers were! They went nicely with the kalguksu, and I liked the texture so much that I found myself thinking, “I want more dumplings~” haha. My husband and children gave them a thumbs-up too, saying the chewy dumpling wrappers and generously filled centers made them even better. There are plenty of chicken-based menu options beyond chicken kalguksu, and the Silbi kimchi is a special treat for spice lovers! Adding the chewy dumplings made the meal quite filling. The gentle gayageum music I heard while eating also lingered in my memory. Rather than a meal you dash through alone, I thought it would be a nice place to bring your parents or family for warm food. If you are looking for a good place to eat in Songcheon-dong, Jeonju, or craving a warm soup dish near Eco City, it may be worth a visit. If you are looking for somewhere nearby to eat, keep it in mind when searching for restaurants near Jeonbuk National University Hospital, Hoseong-dong in Jeonju, or Jeonju Zoo too.
