It's in a great spot to hit up after walking the Simhaksan trail or shopping at the Lotte Outlet, once your stomach starts growling. There was plenty of parking space, so it was super convenient to drive there. A delicious smell was wafting out from the entrance, which really built up my anticipation before I even walked in 🤎

Inside Dolpanseok Jjamppong Paju Simhaksan Branch, the tables are spaced widely with partitions, making it comfortable to eat with your group. The self-serve bar has basic side dishes like pickled radish, onion, and kimchi, and rice is free.

The interior was really clean and pleasant. The wide table spacing made for a comfortable atmosphere to eat with your group! The partitions also give it a nice private feel ✔️

My favorite part was definitely the self-serve bar! It was kept so neatly stocked that you could freely grab as much pickled radish, onion, and kimchi as you wanted without feeling awkward!

That day at Dolpanseok Jjamppong Paju Simhaksan Branch, we ordered nurungji stone-plate jajang for two and nurungji stone-plate jjamppong for two. The portions for both were enormous — the jjamppong came out piled up like a mountain.

The portion was seriously huge (I was shocked..) hahaha the jjamppong came out like a mountain! Look at the size difference between the spoon and the stone bowl haha, such great value haha 😎

This is the nurungji stone-plate jajang (for 2)! The sweet, nutty smell of the sauce searing onto the hot stone plate is amazing!

It has a way deeper flavor than regular jjajang served on a tray — thanks to the stone plate, the noodles stayed warm without going cold or soggy until the very last bite. And the finishing touch, nurungji! 👍

Finally, the nurungji stone-plate jjamppong (for 2) arrives! The broth comes out bubbling on the stone plate like lava, hitting both your eyes and ears at once.

Under the mountain of jjamppong hides chewy noodles and crispy nurungji haha. The spicy, deep, smoky broth soaks right into the nurungji — the texture change from crispy at first to chewy later is a work of art.

It was loaded with seafood too, so the broth was really refreshing and deep. The spice level was just right and spicy enough to melt away all your stress!
