The alleys around Baekhyeon-dong are full of pretty restaurants and cafés, so just walking around this neighborhood kind of puts you in a good mood haha. I told myself I'd eat light this time (?) but ended up ordering three menu items anyway lol. When it comes to eating, I'm always serious... ## What the room at Meolmeol Pangyo in Baekhyeon-dong feels like Meolmeol Pangyo had an overall relaxed atmosphere that made it easy to enjoy brunch on the Baekhyeon-dong café street. I'm not the only one who does that, right? lol ## Raspberry endive salad 🥗 The first thing that came out at Meolmeol Pangyo was the raspberry endive salad. Just from the name, it already feels a bit different from the salads I usually eat. The crunchy texture of the endive combined with the refreshing tang of raspberry made for a light, pleasant bite overall. The dish I was most curious about that day at Meolmeol Pangyo was the spicy lemon anchovy pasta. Just from the name, the flavor combination sounds like something else lol. The bright freshness of lemon plus the umami of anchovy plus a spicy kick made for a flavor that grabbed my appetite more than I expected. At first I thought, "Pasta with lemon in it?" but the more I ate, the more my chopsticks kept going back for more. If you prefer pasta that's cleaner and more distinctive rather than heavy cream pasta, this could be your thing. Especially if you like dishes with lemon, this is definitely worth trying. Tangy, salty, and slightly spicy all at once... the flavor doesn't just stop at one note — the more you eat, the more layers you pick up, which made it fun haha. ## Truffle baby potato fries, impossible to skip 🍟 And then there was the truffle baby potato fries we ordered as a side. Honestly, when you see this on the menu, it's hard to just walk past it lol. The baby potatoes were crispy, and with the distinct truffle aroma added, they paired really well with the pasta too. Crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside — once you pick one up, you just keep going... I told myself "I'll just have a few" and then suddenly the plate was empty lol. Starting off fresh with the salad, digging into the pasta, and popping a truffle baby potato fry in between here and there haha — I really liked this combination. It would be perfect for a weekend course of meeting a friend or going on a date, eating something good, and then heading to a café. These days, rather than just eating and parting ways, grabbing coffee afterward and chatting about this and that is its own small kind of happiness haha. ## Meolmeol Pangyo brunch in Baekhyeon-dong: the verdict Overall, this was a good day to spend time leisurely enjoying good food at Meolmeol Pangyo. The salad was refreshing, the pasta was memorable for its unique lemon-and-anchovy combination, and the truffle baby potato fries were, as expected, delicious lol. It seems like a good place to visit when you want something a bit different from the usual brunch menu. If you're looking for a brunch spot with a nice atmosphere in Baekhyeon-dong, or a solid brunch place in Bundang, Meolmeol is worth a try. Waking up late on a weekend, having a great brunch, then heading to a café afterward... it doesn't sound like much, but it's quietly a source of happiness haha. I really ate well that day.
