## Lunch at Daecheon Brewery after a morning of mudflat fishing

After two hours of fun mudflat fishing at Barameorae Beach in Taean, our stomachs started growling. We headed straight for a Daecheon Beach favorite for lunch: Daecheon Brewery Craft Beer Brewery & Pizza Pub.

When I first visited last spring, the great vibe and delicious pizza stuck with me, so I came back without hesitation this time. Being extra hungry after mudflat fishing only raised my expectations for today's lunch.

I took my time looking over the menu. There were more beer-pairing options than I expected. Hearty platters as well as lighter items like pizza and salad all caught my eye.

### The indoor beach in the middle of the pizza pub

What caught my eye was the space in the middle of the store, decorated with sand, shells, palm trees, and various plants. It felt like a little slice of beach had been brought indoors. Craft beer bottles were naturally placed here and there too, which seemed to capture Daecheon Brewery's vibe perfectly.

Plenty of tables and seats surround the area, making it a comfortable spot to eat or enjoy a beer. This isn't just an ordinary pub — it's a distinctive space that's fun just to wander through.

On one side of the table, small plates, forks, knives, hot sauce, and napkins were all laid out. Everything needed was neatly arranged in a rattan basket, so we could grab whatever we needed easily. The attention to even these small details showed a thoughtfulness that matched the whole atmosphere of the place.

Our cold cola arrived. A canned cola came with a glass full of ice and a straw, all prettily arranged on a cute rattan tray. Even something as simple as a drink showed the store's signature sense of style and care, and it hit the spot for quenching our thirst.

Baked straight out of a premium Italian stone oven at over 300 degrees, the crust had a great texture — crisp outside, chewy inside. The homemade tomato sauce was topped generously with salty chorizo and plump shrimp, and the Vietnamese chili added a spicy, tingling kick that spread through your mouth.

The bouncy texture of the shrimp, the salty chorizo, and the spicy sauce came together so well that there wasn't a trace of greasiness even while eating pizza. If you like spicy pizza, you have to try this one.

Next we tried the grilled brie cheese. Baked golden in the oven, the brie melted into a warm, soft, and chewy texture. Piled high with almonds, assorted nuts, and raisins and finished with maple syrup, the sweet and nutty flavors really came through.

A bite of warm cheese and nuts on a crisp cracker, with the nutty cheese and sweet maple syrup coming together, was genuinely delicious. It paired well with beer and was easy to pick at bite by bite — a great choice for a light snack or dessert.
