## In short

Okryeon Galbi Pyeongtaek Main Branch is a charcoal pork galbi restaurant in the Sosabeol commercial area of Bijeon-dong, Pyeongtaek. Three servings of yuzu-aged pork galbi, pork cheek (bbolsal), and doenjang jjigae (soybean paste stew) came with a staff member grilling and cutting the meat, so there was no need to hover over the grill. Sweet marinade and tender meat make it a solid pick for a work dinner or family meal.

Today I went out for pork galbi in Pyeongtaek. Samgyeopsal (pork belly) is great when you're craving meat, but sometimes you just want charcoal-grilled pork galbi, you know?

This time I visited Okryeon Galbi in Pyeongtaek. I tried the yuzu-aged pork galbi, and it was better than expected, so let me show you everything with photos. Let's get into it!

## Okryeon Galbi Pyeongtaek Main Branch: location, hours, and parking

📌 Location: 1F 118-119, 20-9 Bijeon 5-ro, Pyeongtaek-si, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea

⏰ Hours: Weekdays 17:00–23:00 (last order 22:00) / Weekends 12:00–23:00 (last order 22:00)

There's spacious parking inside the building.

The exterior of Okryeon Galbi! Clean and pretty.

It's in the Bijeon-dong area, so it wasn't hard to find, and being on the first floor made it easy to walk in. I visited in the evening and there seemed to be a lot of people there for work dinners and evening meals.

## What's the atmosphere like inside?

Walking in, the overall vibe was a clean, tidy meat restaurant. It was comfortable to sit at a table and eat, and I thought it would be fine for a family meal too. Since we came for the meat, we looked at the menu as soon as we sat down.

## Ordering three servings of yuzu-aged pork galbi

What we chose was three servings of yuzu-aged pork galbi! The name 'yuzu-aged' was a bit unusual, so I was curious what it would taste like. Yuzu makes me think of a tangy flavor first, so I wondered how that would go with pork galbi. We ordered first and waited for the side dishes.

### Side dishes and wrap vegetables

Here are the basic side dishes. Wrap vegetables came along too, along with side dishes that go well with the meat.

Pork galbi has a fairly sweet marinade, so eating it with wrap vegetables like this helps clean your palate in between bites. I always eat lettuce wraps with meat, so seeing the lettuce made me happy haha.

![Dried radish and wild garlic leaf side dishes](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs-12-1yw3w-900.webp)

There was even mumallaengi (dried radish) and myeongi namul (wild garlic leaves). These will go really well with the galbi.

## Pork galbi grilled by the staff themselves

Three servings of yuzu-aged pork galbi, finally here. Just from the color of the meat, you can tell the marinade has soaked in well.

As they put the meat on the grill, it sizzled and started to cook, and the smell of the meat came right up.

The moment you start grilling meat is always the most exciting, right? And here's what was great — a staff member grills the meat for you.

Pork galbi has marinade on it, which makes it tricky to grill, but since they grilled it for us, it was easy to eat comfortably. They kept checking the meat and cutting it into bite-sized pieces, which was so convenient. It was so nice not having to keep my eyes glued to the grill the whole time.

![Yuzu-aged pork galbi turning golden brown](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs-17-15xuq-900.webp)

## So how does the yuzu-aged pork galbi taste?

Let's try a well-cooked piece first. The first thing you taste is the sweetness of the marinade. It just melts in your mouth.

![A well-cooked piece of pork galbi](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs-18-15k2q-900.webp)

![Close-up of a piece of pork galbi](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs-19-cxsbe-900.webp)

Despite the yuzu name, it's not strongly tangy — it felt more like a subtle aroma added on top of the classic sweet pork galbi marinade.

![Caramelized marinade on the surface of the pork galbi](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs-20-1ulyc-900.webp)

The meat wasn't chewy at all, so tender, and the marinade soaked well into the surface, so it went well with rice too. Especially the parts that got a nice char on the grill — the marinade caramelizes a little and the sweetness deepens, and it's just so good.

![Dipping sauce served with the pork galbi](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs-21-15ikp-900.webp)

![A piece of pork galbi dipped in sauce](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs-22-1bp5t-900.webp)

Dip it in this sauce and it melts right in your mouth.

## Doenjang jjigae and added pork cheek

The doenjang jjigae arrives. You can't skip doenjang jjigae when eating meat, right? It comes out bubbling away, and the rice just disappears. The stew has that classic doenjang savoriness and is seasoned just right, so it went well with the meat.

![Doenjang jjigae bubbling away](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs-23-1l3mq-900.webp)

It was so good we ordered pork cheek (bbolsal) as well. A bite of meat, a spoonful of rice, and a sip of doenjang jjigae — you can't go wrong.

![Additional order of grilled pork cheek](https://img.superchart.com/images/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs/pyeongtaek-okryeon-galbi-yuja-aged-pork-ribs-24-1ujf3-900.webp)

And I made a wrap. Putting well-grilled pork galbi on lettuce gives you the sweet marinade together with the crunchy texture of the lettuce, and it's a whole different flavor. Pork galbi is definitely better wrapped than eaten plain.

## Okryeon Galbi as a work dinner spot in Pyeongtaek: wrapping up

At Okryeon Galbi in Pyeongtaek this time, we had three servings of yuzu-aged pork galbi. The meat was on the tender side, so it went well with wraps or rice, and best of all, the staff grilling the meat for us made it comfortable to eat.

When you go out for galbi, you often end up busy just grilling, but this time we got to talk comfortably while eating haha. Craving galbi in Pyeongtaek? Head to Okryeon Galbi for sweet, nicely charred pork galbi! Another good meal today :)
