A mango bingsu mecca that hits you the moment you walk in. Mangoes stacked everywhere. I knew the mango bingsu was famous, but Fruit Forest, this Paju Publishing City café, turned out to be seriously dedicated to it.

They also sell a sugar-free mango juice, made by blending whole, fresh, high-quality mangoes — rich, well-textured, sweet, and fresh. It's a Paju Publishing City café, and parking is pretty spacious.

Walking in, I saw mangoes stacked up like a tower and my jaw literally dropped. I've never seen this many mangoes piled up in one place in my life, not even in the Philippines, haha.

One wall has this rabbit illustration painted on it — it kind of looks like the rabbit from some famous Shanghai tea brand? A visual I feel like I've seen somewhere before.

## Window-seat atmosphere, fully booked even on a weekday

The vibe inside is set by these floor-to-ceiling windows, so sunlight pours in and there's a green view outside. There were a lot of tables, and the group tables were completely full, so I only photographed the empty side. I was curious why there were so many people on a weekday...

I was originally torn between peach bingsu and mango bingsu, but the moment I walked through the entrance I thought: this place is mango bingsu, no question. So I ordered the fresh mango snow bingsu and an iced americano.

## Fresh mango snow bingsu — the mango thickness is on another level

The visuals on Fruit Forest's mango bingsu are overwhelming. This is probably the first place among Paju Publishing City cafés to serve bingsu this well-made. Fresh mango is arranged in a ring around the bowl, and there's a serious amount of it. On top sit ice cream and cheese cubes.

I've had mango bingsu a few times, but the mango near my place was so thin that it crushed and tore apart the moment my spoon touched it, haha. The mango at this Paju café, Fruit Forest, is — as you can see — really thick and hefty, so thick that eating just the mango alone would fill you up. Next to it is the mango syrup that came with it.

It feels like two whole mangoes' worth is piled on top. The mangoes themselves were large and high in sweetness, well-ripened with zero sourness — dense and really, really sweet.

### Cheese cubes come standard

Ice cream, cheese cubes. Cheese cubes and mango are truly a perfect match. Some places charge extra for cheese cubes, but at Fruit Forest Paju, they're included with the mango bingsu as standard.

I figured I'd get too full eating everything together, so I moved just the mango onto a separate plate and ate it that way. Mango that's used purely as a topping is often less fresh, but here the mango is genuinely the main event and the bingsu is just the option — this is the real deal, a proper fresh mango bingsu...

## Why it's a great stop on the way to Paju Lotte Outlet

Scoop up the cheese cubes, mango, and snow ice together and it's cold, refreshing, and sweet — perfect for dessert. Paju Lotte Outlet isn't far by car either, so it's worth stopping by before or after a trip there. This was my first time in the Paju Publishing City area, and I expected it to feel remote, but I was surprised by how many people were around and how many good restaurants and cafés there are nearby.

### When's the best time to pour on the mango syrup?

There's already mango syrup layered throughout, so you don't have to add more, but if you want to taste that intense mango flavor all the way to the end, pour the mango syrup that comes with it over the top — that way, even as the ice fully melts, you'll still get a bingsu packed with mango flavor to the last bite!

If you're looking for a mango bingsu mecca among the cafés in Paju Publishing City or near Paju Lotte Outlet, I recommend Fruit Forest café!
