## In short

Kkot Gatsu Dongtan Main Branch is a tenderloin pork cutlet restaurant in Dongtan, Hwaseong, Gyeonggi. Visiting right at 5pm when the break time ends, the writer ordered kkot katsu, cheese kkot katsu, and mini curry, pairing them with the self-serve bar's cumin salt, lemon salt, wasabi, and truffle oil. The kkot katsu dipped in truffle oil, plus the curry-dipping combo, were the standouts of the visit.

Kkot Gatsu has a wood-toned interior with a Japanese vibe from the outside, so even before going in I already felt like I was about to have a properly good pork cutlet!

## We timed our visit to avoid the wait, right after break time

Kkot Gatsu is actually famous for its long waits, but we visited right when break time ended at 5pm, so we managed to skip the wait — though customers streamed in so fast that a line formed almost immediately?!

## The atmosphere inside

Stepping inside, the interior matched the exterior — a warm, wood-toned atmosphere overall 🤍 It felt just as fitting for a Dongtan date spot!

## What we ordered: kkot katsu, cheese kkot katsu, mini curry

Kkot Gatsu offers set menus and à la carte options beyond the standard single cutlet dishes, so there's a nice range of choices! We ended up ordering kkot katsu, cheese kkot katsu, and mini curry.

Kkot Gatsu also runs a receipt review event where you can get a drink, cheese balls, or beer — definitely worth taking part in!

## There's even truffle oil at the self-serve bar

One thing I really liked about Kkot Gatsu was the self-serve bar!

Beyond the standard sauces you'd find at any pork cutlet place, they had cumin salt, lemon salt, wasabi, and truffle oil — and personally, the truffle oil was my favorite of them all!

There were also side dishes like pickled radish, mountain pepper, and dried radish kimchi!

I neatly portioned out just as much as we'd actually eat haha

## A cross-section with a hint of pink — the tenderloin katsu

Both the cheese kkot katsu and the kkot katsu looked so appetizing, right?! The cross-section had a pinkish tint that looked incredibly juicy at a glance!

![Salad with sesame dressing](https://img.superchart.com/images/kkotgatsu-dongtan-truffle-oil-curry/kkotgatsu-dongtan-truffle-oil-curry-20-1ve35-900.webp)

I tend to quietly care a lot about the salad dressing at pork cutlet places, and this one had a sesame-flavored dressing that wasn't heavy at all and really whetted the appetite — I loved it!

## How big is the mini curry, really?

The mini curry came out right away too — with a name like 'mini curry,' I expected something side-dish-sized, but it turned out to be pretty generous, plenty for two of us to share alongside the cutlets.

Dipping the kkot katsu and cheese kkot katsu into the curry was absolutely delicious!!!!!!! Definitely order the mini curry and dip your cutlets in it — highly recommend!

And with rice — no need to say more, it was so good we asked for a second bowl haha

## Final thoughts

- ✔️ A popular Dongtan spot where the wait builds up fast
- ✔️ Clean, warm wood-toned interior
- ✔️ Appetizing pork cutlets with a pinkish cross-section
- ✔️ A well-stocked self-serve bar with cumin salt, truffle oil, lemon salt, wasabi, and various side dishes
- ✔️ The mini curry side dish pairs really well with the cutlets

Kkot Gatsu was a fun spot where juicy, tender tenderloin cutlets could be customized to taste with cumin salt, wasabi, lemon salt, and truffle oil. The kkot katsu dipped in truffle oil was what stuck with me most, and dunking the cutlet into the mini curry was also delicious 💛 If you're looking for a good pork cutlet spot in Dongtan, I recommend giving Kkot Gatsu a visit.
