I was craving gopchang over the weekend so my husband and I went to get our fix. I feel like I need a periodic gopchang transfusion, haha. Ilmigop has around 8 to 10 four-person tables. I have a theory that if a place sells yukhoe, their gopchang is probably fresh too. They say they prepare everything fresh from ingredients sourced the same day, and only use natural ingredients to tenderize the meat. ## Can you bring kids to Ilmigop? Ilmigop has baby chairs, so quite a few kids come here for gopchang, apparently? Ahh, that's the taste! We saved it for last. They even brought out the beef belly we'd added — can a place really give this much service?! They gave us more vegetables to grill alongside it too. So tender, and dipped in the soy sauce for the beef belly, it just melted in your mouth. ## Too full for Ilmigop's fried rice And... yeah... I know everyone's probably been waiting to hear about the fried rice, but sorry, we were too full to eat it. The portions were bigger than expected... well, I guess I can only blame my own stomach, haha. There was no gamey smell at all, it's a comfortable space to eat in, and it seems like a great spot for family visits or even a date course! Being near an apartment complex, it's clearly a genuine neighborhood favorite among locals, and the owner was so kind and the food was so good that I'll definitely be back.
