## In short

Menji Hanam Misa Branch is a chicken-broth ramen restaurant in Hanam Misa, Gyeonggi. Visiting for weekend lunch meant a 20-minute wait, but the hand-breaded sirloin tonkatsu + mini ramen set (₩16,500) and ramen + mini rice combo (₩13,500) fed three family members full for ₩30,000 total. Waiting was easy since a bakery in the same building offers seats, and this is a definite repeat visit.

I was looking for something to eat in Hanam Misa and ended up at Menji Hanam Misa Branch. I'd been craving ramen lately, and the bottom line is: I want to go back! I don't usually go to restaurants with waits, but this one was genuinely satisfying haha.

## Why Menji Hanam Misa had a wait

There was already a wait when we arrived, but after eating, I got why people were willing to wait... Given how expensive eating out has gotten these days, the set composition was so reasonable that both the taste and the value made this a ramen spot in Hanam Misa worth recommending.

## Location and parking at Menji Hanam Misa

There's some parking available right in front of the restaurant! We drove there too, but parking space isn't exactly generous. The lot out front is on the small side, so if you're visiting during peak hours, keep that in mind. We got lucky visiting on a weekend lunch and parked fine!

### The entrance can be a little confusing at first

![Shared entrance of Menji Hanam Misa Branch with the bakery](https://img.superchart.com/images/menji-hanam-misa-ramen-set-waiting/menji-hanam-misa-ramen-set-waiting-03-gqk7o-966.webp)

One quirky thing here — Menji isn't a standalone storefront you can see straight from the road. It shares an entrance with Easy White Bread Hanam Misa in the same building, so on your first visit you might wonder, is this really it...? Go through the Easy White Bread entrance and head further inside, and Menji appears!

## How long was the wait at Menji Hanam Misa?

When we arrived, there were already people waiting, so our wait started right away... Honestly, when you find a restaurant you wanted to try and see people already waiting outside, you kind of wonder if you should go somewhere else haha. Especially when you're eating with a kid or already hungry, 10 minutes can feel like 30. But what was great here was being able to wait together at the bakery in the same building! So the wait was relatively comfortable. We waited about 20 minutes.

### The restaurant itself is smaller than expected

Once inside, Menji itself isn't a huge space. Overall it's compact, with tables and seats fitted in efficiently. It's mostly single-person bar seats and 2-4 person tables, so a small restaurant like this — the wait we experienced was probably partly because the food is popular, but also because the seating itself just isn't that plentiful. During peak hours, some wait seems inevitable!

## What we ordered

- Hand-breaded sirloin tonkatsu + mini ramen set: ₩16,500
- Ramen + mini rice combo: ₩13,500

We picked two different sets. We debated just getting one bowl of ramen each, but once we saw the set prices, we figured — isn't this basically an obligation to get the set? haha

Considering what a single meal out costs these days, being able to get rice or tonkatsu alongside your ramen felt like really good value to me personally. ₩30,000 total, and three of us ate more than enough to feel full!

![Apron prepared at the table](https://img.superchart.com/images/menji-hanam-misa-ramen-set-waiting/menji-hanam-misa-ramen-set-waiting-09-29p3f-966.webp)

Aprons were laid out on the table too, which made me think this could be a great date spot as well — Menji Hanam Misa Branch!

They even give you chicken skewers when you order alcohol... is it okay to be this generous?? T_T

I even checked the tips for eating it the best way. The wait was long, but the food came out fast, which I appreciated — Menji, a ramen spot in Hanam Misa!

## Menji's signature menu: Tori Paitan

First up, the tori paitan I'd been looking forward to! Menji's tori paitan is a ramen with a rich broth made from a chicken base. Apparently the fresh noodles are rolled multiple times and aged, while the chicken broth is simmered repeatedly at high temperatures! But honestly, more important than all that explanation is how it actually tasted... and it was seriously, incredibly delicious haha.

It'd been a while since I had Japanese-style ramen. This was a genuinely deep, delicious broth, seriously so good T_T. The mini rice was also just so cute.

The broth is rich, but not in a greasy way that gets heavy

![Tori paitan noodles and broth](https://img.superchart.com/images/menji-hanam-misa-ramen-set-waiting/menji-hanam-misa-ramen-set-waiting-16-9xb1u-966.webp)

eating it with the noodles makes you keep going for more. And the mini rice we ordered alongside! It's perfect for anyone who feels ramen alone isn't quite enough. Eating it together after you finish the noodles and have broth left... let's just say, words fail me haha.

## And the ramen + tonkatsu set

![Ramen and sirloin tonkatsu set](https://img.superchart.com/images/menji-hanam-misa-ramen-set-waiting/menji-hanam-misa-ramen-set-waiting-17-8yndi-966.webp)

The other order was the ramen + tonkatsu set. Honestly, if it's just the two of us, I like ordering one of each like this. Rather than two bowls of the same ramen, ordering one with mini rice and one with tonkatsu means we end up trying a bit of everything haha.

### Even the tonkatsu was better than expected

It's a ramen restaurant, so honestly I figured the tonkatsu would just be a side dish and didn't expect much — but it was actually good! Eating ramen, then a bite of crispy tonkatsu, then back to the broth... the combination works great!!!

![Crispy hand-breaded sirloin tonkatsu](https://img.superchart.com/images/menji-hanam-misa-ramen-set-waiting/menji-hanam-misa-ramen-set-waiting-18-1nln6-966.webp)

![Cross-section of the tonkatsu paired with ramen](https://img.superchart.com/images/menji-hanam-misa-ramen-set-waiting/menji-hanam-misa-ramen-set-waiting-19-14v80-966.webp)

Most of all, being able to get both dishes at this price was great. These days, when you order one ramen, one side, and a drink at a ramen specialty restaurant, the bill adds up faster than you'd think — but here the set itself felt reasonable, and I kept thinking about the value while eating! Really delicious and high quality for the price. No wonder there was a wait...

![Takoyaki served with the set](https://img.superchart.com/images/menji-hanam-misa-ramen-set-waiting/menji-hanam-misa-ramen-set-waiting-21-1ob51-966.webp)

The tonkatsu sauce was delicious, and the cute takoyaki that came with it was tasty too!

## Overall thoughts: Menji, a ramen restaurant in Hanam Misa

For me, the reasons to come back are that the ramen itself was delicious, the set composition was great value, the tonkatsu was better than expected... and most of all, even with a wait, being able to wait at the bakery in the same space made the waiting less painful than expected!

If you're planning to have mini rice or tonkatsu alongside your ramen, the set composition here is quite good. I'd definitely visit Menji, a ramen restaurant in Hanam Misa, again! It's been a while since I found a ramen place I wanted to come back to. The wait is a bit of a downside, but if it's this good... you just wait, right? haha
