Bokbunja (Korean black raspberry wine) is the classic pairing with eel, so I ordered a bottle! Instead of the usual Bohae Bokbunja, they had one called Sejong Bokbunja, so I gave it a try. One sip in, it was sweet and a little closer to grape wine in flavor. But personally, I think classic Bohae Bokbunja cuts through eel’s richness much better and tastes more delicious with it!
