This time, I headed over a little early to arrive right at opening time. The spacious restaurant was nice and relaxed then, and it seemed like a great fit for a family meal. The mountain-like pile of minari (water dropwort) on the shabu-shabu immediately caught my eye. It really looked like a wonderful Osan Segyo shabu-shabu and kalguksu spot for a family meal or for taking your parents out. ### Location and hours Dongchundang Shabu Shabu Kalguksu is in Dugok-dong, Osan. There is clear-broth shabu kalguksu, as well as Chodang soft tofu shabu kalguksu. There is also mushroom spicy-soup kalguksu and a cordyceps longevity mushroom option. Grilled baby octopus and Eonyang-style crispy bulgogi are available too. That makes it easy to choose dishes even when you come in a group. The fun of shabu-shabu is eating it as it cooks: once the vegetables soften, add the meat, cook it just right, and eat it together. After filling up on warm food, the cold ice cream made my mouth feel nicely refreshed. What I felt on this visit was that it is a place that suits family meals well. The restaurant is spacious and parking is easy, so there is less pressure when several people are getting together. I was just as satisfied on the return visit, and I especially liked the generous course. This time, we added Eonyang-style crispy bulgogi to three servings of shabu kalguksu. From the mountain of minari to the mugwort kalguksu and fried rice, it was full of good things. With barley bibimbap and dessert included too, the meal never felt boring. Finishing with the Excellent ice cream made it a genuinely pleasant meal. The cordyceps tea and black sesame soy milk at the self-serve bar stayed with me too. If you like makgeolli, the unlimited serving will be welcome as well. Above all, the restaurant and parking lot are both spacious, making it convenient for families to visit.
